CHP 5┃best friends

CHAPTER 5
𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐛𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬

"Honestly, out of all the people you could've received, you got him?" Changbin asked with a frown, the glass of water in his hand nearly tipping over in his distress, "why?"

Hyunjin looked up from his phone to his concerned friend, "are you still upset over Felix? What's so bad about him, you met him once!"

The other man looked highly distraught, having a mental argument with himself.

because he's a fucking demon! "He seems like a complete asshole!" He replied instead, making Hyunjin even more confused.

"All he did was introduce himself! Plus, he's going to be around us for the next few months, get used to him!" Hyunjin said tiredly, fed up over having to calm down his bestfriend. "He's invited us round for dinner today, so you either be nice to him or don't come at all!"

Changbins frown deepened (if possible) and he muttered, "you're absolutely not going by yourself..."

The model got up and stretched, laughing softly at his friend- before walking off to change into something more appropriate to meet with his new (and unfairly attractive) co worker. "You act like he's going to eat me!"

Changbin watched his carefree friend walk into his own room, shutting the door behind him. He looked down at his hand and he could still feel the burn he gave when he shook hands with Felix.

He sighed, "that's what I'm afraid of."

"What! Is! Wrong! With! You!" Minho shouted, pronouncing every word with a venomous tone. The young boy was peacefully playing on the ground next to him looked up in alarm, only to lose interest in the two men immediately and went back to playing with his toys.

Felix rubbed his head, a headache seemed to be in his near future, "I didn't realise ok! I would have never tried to allure him if I knew an angel was there!"

That was pretty much the most important thing to remember when using demonic powers. Of course, alluring a human was hardly difficulty to do, it's baisically just making sure the human is focused on you and only you, which is completely harmless! Yet you should never, ever try to manipulate or even touch a human if they were close to an angel.

But, because the universe absolutely despised Felix's very being, his humans best fucking friend was an angel.

The other demon picked up his (adorable) human boy and sat down on the sofa, still very much upset at his best friends idiotic move.

Minho looked good with a child, and Felix actually found himself a little jealous at how domestic the two were. They had arrived at his house earlier that day looking like they had been with eachother for years, falling into a father-son act almost immediately. It was kind of cute.

However the cuteness hadn't lasted long, as Felix explained exactly why he was scared an angel would kill him, only for Minho to then spend the next 2 hours telling him off. Surely, if their wasn't a child in the room, Minho would have actually killed him.

"Honestly, you're going to get everyone killed if you keep acting so carelessly. Angels aren't a joke..." Minho muttered to himself, the small boy in his arms seemingly trying to doze off. "And now you've invited him to dinner? You got balls dude."

Felix couldn't help but smile sheepishly at that, because granted, inviting an angel into your house was pretty much a 'hi, please stab me in the back while I make some tea!'

But then again, it wasn't always like that. If anything, demons and angels actually lived in harmony all those years ago.

After Satan had started a war between creatures, and the angels joined with the fairies, there had always been that deep hatred. Afterall, the demons did side with the underworld, not that any of them were proud of it.

Demons were just followers, they found the strongest leader and served them. It wasn't like they wanted word destruction and all innocent lives to perish, but it was simply help kill, or be killed in the battle. No matter how confident and powerful demons may be, deep down all of them are simply lazy and what humans would now call 'gold-diggers'.

Angels however, were much the opposite. They believed in what they thought was right, peace among all, happiness...and above all they were completely against harming humans. Many devote their lives to protecting and guiding humans throughout their lives and encourage other spirits to do the same. Millions of years ago angels negotiated with the demons, fought together with the humans (back when they new creatures like them existed).

However the war had been similar to a nasty breakup, ever since then angels despised demons with an almost hellish passion.

That was the only flaw to angels, their hate.

But that was why the won the war, and it's also why even the most feared and powerful demons cowered at the sight of angels. For one wrong move and an angel could get rid of a demon, and no one could do anything about it.

"Felix bad!" The small child suddenly said, and the demon stared down at the child in confusion.

He then looked up to his friend, only to see the looking extremely smug and proud, "see, what Minjun said. Felix bad! Stupid! Dumb! Idiot-"

"Alright alright! I get it! I messed up, but I'll fix it!"

His friend gave him a bored and very unimpressed look, "and how are you going to do that? You can't really...take him now that an angel is following him around." He replied, careful with his words as Minjun was peacefully on his lap.

"I'll..." Felix started, not having thought that the purpose of him even being here was now hindered, "I'll think of something."

At that moment, Minho's eyes shined red and he grabbed onto his human child, "Someones here."

Felix froze in alarm, trying his best to sense their surroundings. Both demons went quiet, the only sounds being the inaudible babbles coming from the baby who was beginning to grow uncomfortable.

Almost immediately, the human card safely placed in Felix's front pocket burned, and loud knocks filled the apartment.

Yet, what both demons had sensed was purity, happiness, safety and protection. All those qualities of an angel, who was entering a demons lair.

Dinner was going to be fun.
