After an eventful summer, it was finally time to go to school.
Today is the first day of school and I'm starting my junior year at Walden Academy with the Ross kids. I brushed my teeth and took a shower before throwing on a pair of blue jeans, a grey cropped tee, and a pair of white sneakers. My hair was in a ponytail and my accessories were on point. I took my bag and walked downstairs to meet my sister.
Jessie was packing our lunch cases and Bertram was placing the food on the table.
"Good morning," I chirped.
"Good morning, Mia."
I placed the utensils on the table and sat down.
"Are you excited for your first day?" Jessie asked.
"Kind of," I shrugged.
"Don't stress it. I'm sure that this school year is going to be great."
"I hope so too."
The Ross clan entered and sat on the table, exchanging greetings with us. Luke's eyes locked with mine and he quickly broke it off. After I rejected him, our relationship has become awkward. We only speak when needed and we stopped spending time together. I tried to get him to talk to me but he always turned me down. I stopped trying so right now, it is what it is.
"Kids, what are you guys excited for this school year?" Jessie asked.
"New friends," Ravi said.
"More drama," Zuri said while sipping her orange juice.
"Cute boys," Emma said and we all gave her a look. "What? I'm not going to stay single forever."
"Sporting activities," Luke said.
"Okay guys, the driver is already downstairs so get ready to go," Jessie said and we left.
In the lobby, I accidentally bumped into Mrs. Chesterfield.
"I'm so sorry Mrs. Chesterfield," I said, not happy that I'm starting my day by bumping into people.
"Ugh, you're so clumsy like your sister Tessie."
"Uh, it's Jessie."
"Whatever now go wherever."
I shook my head and went into the car.
The car ride was fun and entertaining. I was still nervous and I tapped my feet during the car ride.
Shane said that he'll meet me in front of the school so that's good. We are still together and going strong. Him and Luke are still friends though so its cool between them.
We got out of the car and I jumped into Shane's arms.
"Hey! Someone is happy to see me," he smirked.
"Whatever," I said and rolled my eyes.
We went inside the building and they gave me a personal tour of the school. It was nice but I hope that the people in it are nice too.
I walked into the office and got my schedule and locker number. When I found it, I discovered that my locker is in between Shane's and Luke's. Isn't that great! (Note sarcasm).
I kept my books and went into my first class of the day, Algebra. I sat at the back of the class, minding my business so far. Other students walked in and the class started to fill. The bell rang and the teacher came in.
"Good morning class, I'm Mr. Cornelius and I'll be teaching Algebra for this school year. Pleased make yourself comfortable," he said and sat on his desk. I was happy that he didn't call for new students to introduce themselves because I wasn't ready for it.
