Tangled 2 - My Story (I am Rapunzel and Eugene's Daughter)

Shackled

Summary of Story: Eugene watched in horror as Gothel's dagger ripped across Rapunzel's stomach as well as his heart. One-shot, if Rapunzel had to choose to save herself, Eugene, or got both of them out alive. 

As Gothel waited at the edge, Rapunzel couldn't breathe. The gag twisted across her mouth and the shackles on her wrists prevented her from springing to the window where Gothel lurked, waiting for Eugene to come running to save the day. No, no no!!!  Rapunzel thought frantically. But alas, there he was, calling her name. Rapunzel could see Gothel smirk in the darkness. Gothel waved a long bundle of hair at Rapunzel.

"This is for disobedience girl. You shouldn't have run away from the tower." She smirked and lamely threw the length of hair out of the tower. Rapunzel tried to cry out but the gag muffled all of her efforts to cry out. The chains rattled furiously as she strained against them. They twisted her wrists in an awkward position and scarred her wrists until the skin was raw, bleeding and painful. She couldn't let him come!

Rapunzel could feel the hair becoming taught with Flynn's weight at the end of it. Rapunzel watched helplessly and in fear as Gothel retreated into the shadows. Steadily, the sounds of Eugene's grunts as he climbed Rapunzel's hair grew louder and louder as he came closer to the top of the tower where Gothel lay in waiting like a Lion that was about to pounce on its prey and give it a killer blow to finish it off. Rapunzel wished that Eugene would fall then and there. She glanced back at her once - mother and looked at Gothel with pleading eyes. Gothel ignored this and smiled, crouching and brandishing the dagger, ready to kill.    

Rapunzel tried to yell through the gag. She tried to run towards and the window and Eugene. An impossible task. Eugene appeared at the top and lept over the window sill. Rapunzel's heart melted. He had come for her. His broad shoulders, quirky smile and that ticklish goatee. But Gothel was prepared to spring. 

"Rapunzel, I thought I would never see you...." He cut himself off at the sight of Rapunzel with a gag over her mouth, struggling against the shackles and chains that were holding her back. His mouth fell open. Her desperate cries were lost to him and he couldn't hear her through the gag that was over her mouth. He was about to start forward to save her, but Rapunzel watched in horror as Gothel leapt from her hiding place, plunging the cold, cruel dagger into Eugene's side, piercing his lung, before happily sliding it out again. Eugene shouted in pain and tumbled to the ground. His vision started to blur. 

"NO!" Rapunzel screamed. Her efforts, however, where muffled by the gag that was tied around her mouth. Tears coursed down Rapunzel's face as she efforts to reach her new dream, Eugene, were foiled by the chains around her wrists that imbedded bloody tracks on the skin of her wrists. 

Gothel only smirked at Eugene's pain. Gothel smirked as Eugene gripped his side in pain. He gripped his side in pain and murmured Rapunzel's name faintly as he saw her struggling against the chains that were around Rapunzel's wrists. He was struggling to breathe due to the puncture in his lungs from the dagger. His vision blurred and he felt extremely dizzy. He watched in horror as Gothel began to drag Rapunzel by her chains, down somewhere. No... He thought frantically. No, she can't... go...

He heard Rapunzel begging something of her once Mother.  Eugene strained to hear what she was saying, and her words froze his shaking body. "No, Rapunzel, don't!!!" He winced. "... I'll never run, I'll never try to escape... just, let, me, heal, him!" Rapunzel begged of her once Mother. She was offering to exchange her freedom for his life. "No... Rapunzel, you can't... do that!" 

The shackles suddenly fell from Rapunzel's arms, and Gothel fell upon him, not too gently, and shackled him to a table on the floor that was covered in his blood. "In case you get any ideas about following us. Also, just so you don't try anything." Gothel spat. He blinked, and Rapunzel fell over him and brushed his hair off his face with her shaking hand.
