Have you ever been
Bored to tears
The words of a speaker
In and out your ears?
This, you see, often happens to me,
And when it does,
I write poetry.
Have you ever been
Unable to focus
Concentration resistant
Simply unfocused
This, too, often happens to me,
So when it does
I write poetry.
So keep this in mind
As you read and read
These poems were born
Of boredom, distraction
Sometimes with eyes
Only open a fraction.
