Little Red Riding Hood

Green leaves sprout like before, wild flowers twirling in the afternoon breeze.
Walking down this familiar path, she came to deliver her offerings.
Hidden deep inside this forest is an ancient temple and mystery.
Who comes there down the old path? The sounds of a girl's steps echoing.

Singing birds and dancing lights; life resonates in the air.
A burned incense, an offered prayer: she came to thank God for His care.
But going back up that old path, a lonely shadow crosses her.
Who hides there on the old path? The silent shadow of a beast.

This is a typical tale of a human girl and that one strayed wolf:
A friendship that one can't tell, because 'tis their tryst and tragedy.
With every month the girl walked by, everytime with the wolf nearby.
Who walks now down the old path? A human girl and a young wolf.

Pointy ears, sharp claws, and teeth; inhuman grace was what he had.
"We cannot meet," she confessed one day, "because we'll never be the same
"Even though i want to stay, one day, they'll come and make you go away."
Who comes down the old path? Another wolf- another pair.

"She knows too much," one of them said. The other, "For you, we'll kill her today."
"We have lived within this forest, hidden, keeping far away from her kind."
"If she continues to live like this, our pack will fear and gnaw their feet."

The leaves are red, fading away
Autumn came and went with its cool breath
She lived to see the other days, because he swore to keep apart.
Even though she knew it true, that they could never meet again,
His lonely eyes from that day stood, still and calling to her heart.

Green leaves sprout like before, wild flowers twirling in the afternoon breeze.
Walking down this familiar path, she came to deliver her offerings.
Hidden deep inside this forest is an ancient temple and mystery.
Who comes there down the old path? The sounds of a lady's steps echoing.

A treasured red stole on her hair, she gave her thanks, whispered her prayer
Even though she knew it would never come true and she smiled where a shadow once crossed hers.
While going back up that old path the treasure red flower was smiled upon.
Who hides there on the old path the silent shadow of a beast.
