After Elena got turned into a vampire, Stefan became her teacher. Damon, was once again, totally out of the picture in Elena's life. A new Gilbert arrives in town. This 20 years old girl is called Melody Gilbert, and is the older cousin of Elena. Elena and Stefan asked her to keep an eye on Jeremy, since he's back from Denver. Melody's personality is really different than that from Elena. Melody is cynic, mean and hard to get. Damon, which everybody already expected, tries to get Melody. Melody isn't interested in him, and dumps him. Yet Damon holds on, and he keeps flirting with her. During Melody's stay in Mystic Falls, she goes through a lot of ups and downs. Maybe she will fall for Damon's charms.
