Voices. All I heard were voices. I don't know what they were saying but they sounded so familiar. All I could see were moving shadows. Shadows coming and going. There's always one shadow that's there though. I felt people touch my forehead or hold my hand or kiss the top of my head.
What's going on?
Why can't I see anything?
Where am I?
Lightning still hasn't woken up and I haven't left her side at all. It's been 9 days.
I've only gotten up to use the bathroom but once I'm done it's straight back to her side.
I don't care what she said to me at the house. It hurt but I don't care. I won't leave her alone. Not now and not ever. Last time I left her alone she got raped.
It was just me and her in the cell so I started to silently cry.
"I'm so sorry this happened to you. I should've been there. I should've saved you before..." I stared at the ground the whole time I said those words.
I felt a soft hand wipe my tears away. I looked up at lightning and she was smiling at me. Her bright blue eyes were wide open and looked so alive.
I jumped up and hugged her. I didn't let go either.
"It's not your fault." She said her voice rough and dry.
I finally let her go and kissed her on the head.
"I'll get Hershel and I'll get you some water and something to eat." I said rushing out if the room. I went to Hershel first because I didn't want her to be alone.
"She's awake!" I said a big smile on my face. Hershel looked at me and smiled before hobbling over to her cell.
I rushed over and got her some canned pears and some water. I rushed back and saw Hershel examining her.
"Here." I handed her the can that had a fork in it and the water bottle.
"Thanks." She drank the whole bottle of water and started to eat the can of pears.
"Wow... You were thirsty and hungry." I chuckled. She blushed slightly and handed me the empty bottle and the empty can. I smiled and exited the cell.
"Dad! She's awake. Hershel's in with her now." I smiled at my dad. He smiled back and went to tell the others.
I walked back to her cell but Hershel was just coming out.
"She's resting. Leave her be." He said guiding me away.
Everyone wanted to go see her but respected the fact she was resting. I don't get how she can rest I mean she was resting for 9 days. Oh well.
I lay in bed with my eyes wide open. I was trying to sleep but it's impossible. Finally I decided to get up and go take a shower. I crawled out of bed and walked out of my cell.
"Hey." I said walking over to Rick. "Where is everybody?" I just noticed that no one was in the cell block except him and me.
"In cell block C. Walkers. Patrick died. It was apparently because of a sickness. I had to stay here and make sure you were okay. I had the kids put in a different part of the prison. West side. Beth is there and Carl. Anyone who was exposed to the illness is in cell block C. Hershel and doctor S are checking on everyone."
"Oh my god. Is everyone okay?" I asked panicked and worried.
"Yeah. We lost some people but... What can we do. That's all that happened while you were sleeping. The illness. Glenns sick. Doc is but he's still helping. A few others too." Rick said looking at his dismantled gun.
"Where's Carl?" I asked.
"He's in the west end. I kept him on guard. You shouldn't go...." I didn't let Rick before I ran down go Carl.
"Carl?!" I called out. "Carl?!" I called again. I heard footsteps come around the corner and out came Carl with his gun raised. Once he saw me he lowered it and ran to me.
"Thank god your okay." Carl whispered into my hair.
"Me? What about you?!" I asked pulling back from the hug.
"I'm fine. Where's my dad?"
"He's fine. In cell block A."
"For being a jerk back when the.... incident happened at the house."
"Hey..." Carl cupped his hands around my face. "It's not your fault. That ass hole deserved the beating he got. You were embarrassed and scared. I get it. It's fine."
"Carl.... I'm gonna try something." I stared into Carls eyes and than slowly leaned in. I saw Carl start to lean in too.
Soon our lips touched softly. I closed my eyes and let my lips do what they wanted.
I finally pulled away and smirked as Carl still had his eyes closed.
"I'm glad you were my first kiss." Carl said opening his eyes. I giggled.
"Dido. I'll be back later okay? I'm gonna go take a shower." I gave Carl a quick kiss on the cheek and started to walk away swaying my hips a little bit.
"Can I join?" I heard Carl call out. I could see the smirk on his face even though I wasn't looking at him.
"Nope." I kept walking. And never once turned around. I smirked and went to the showers. I grabbed a fresh towel and stripped.
I turned on the water and let it run down my body. I saw some shampoo and grabbed it. I put some in my hand and than rubbed it in my hair. I could smell the delicious strawberry. I rinsed my hair and than I grabbed the body wash. I rubbed it all over my body and rinsed. I took a towel and dried off. I used the same towel to wrap it around my hair.
After getting dressed I took the towel off my hair and kept running the towel around my hair.
I walked back to my cell and smiled as I saw Rick, Maggie, Hershel and almost everyone from the council. I hugged everyone and walked to my cell.
I looked in the little mirror I had in my cell and smiled at myself. My teeth weren't as white as they use to be and I was rather skinny. I was never skinny but I was never fat either so this is kinda weird for me.
I quickly remembered something and ran out of my cell to Rick.
"Where's Zelda?!" I asked panicked.
"She's fine. She's out in the yard right now." I ran to the yard and saw my adorable little husky jumping around the field.
"ZELDA! COME ON GIRL!" I yelled. She looked at me and ran. I opened the gate and she jumped at me.
"Wow.... Easy girl." I said giggling and closing the gate.
I started walking back to my cell and Zelda followed. Zelda jumped onto my bed and lid down on the end of it. I smiled.
I wrapped the towel around my pillow and lid down in my bed. I soon fell asleep dreaming about tomorrow.
