John POV
I went to my next class kinda looking at the door once and a while to see if Peggy walked in. I didn't know why, but I couldn't Focus without Peggy there. I keep looking at the door and by the end of the class Peggy never came in. I walked out of class and then remembered that I had Peggy's phone number. Of course, I was worried about Peggy not being in class but I didn't want it to sound weird. Like I was watching her every move or something so I just text
Johnny boy: hey Peggy um...why weren't you in second period?
I waited for a response for a few minutes. I keep checking my phone every minute to see if she had responded yet. I waited for a few more minutes and thought <What if she blocked my number? What if she doesn't like me and thinks I'm a pain> these thoughts keep me from doing my homework. But I couldn't help but think this and what if all of them were true.
Peggys POV
I decided not to go to the rest of my classes because I couldn't even think of John with my face becoming red. I hear my phone ding and pick it up for it to say; a new message from *Johnny boi*_
My face somehow becomes a little redder. I run to my Eliza's bedroom and show her my phone without saying anything. She takes the phone out of my hand and says
"Well you have to respond"
I sit down beside her pushing her computer aside and asked
"Do I really have to?"
She shakes her head yes and tries to give the phone back to me. I push the phone back towards her and say
"I don't...so can you please"
She takes the phone and opens it. She reads the message that said
Johnny boy: hey Peggy... umm why weren't you in second period?
Eliza smiles and said
"Aww he's worried about you"
I shake my head and say
"Eliza we're just friends!"
Eliza looks up at me and says
"Sure you guys are just friends"
She extended the word friends and then ask
"So what do you want to say back?"
I shrug and said
"That's the whole reason I asked you"
She began to type and say what she is
"I wasn't there because I was talking to my sister about you... I love you sooo much"
I take the phone from her and say
"DON'T SAY THAT!"
Eliza smiles and says
"Then what do you want to be your lie?"
"I don't know" I respond
Eliza thought for a second and said
"Hey I know you can say I don't I was bored"
I think about that for a while and say
"Wait no because that will make him think I was bored of him"
Eliza laughs a little and says
"Then I don't know"
I take the phone back and go to my room I flop on my bed and look at when he sent it. At 5:30 it was now 6 pm I panicked and sent
Pegs: I don't know...i just don't like that class that much
I send it. I read it again and say
"Shit that sounds rude!"
I put down my phone and hear a ding I look at my phone and it was a message from John I throw my phone in a panic. Angelica sees my phone out in the hallway from where I threw it she picks it up and goes into my, she asked
"What happened?"
I point at my phone and say
"C..can you r..read it?"
Angelica nods her head and reads it
