Lauren's POV
*7 months later*

"Camz I'm back.", I called out to my girlfriend.

"Hey baby.", Camila smiled as she greeted me with a kiss at the door.

"Hey I missed you and I brought back some food.", I said as I held up a bag with groceries. "How does spaghetti sound?"

"Mmm sounds great Lolo.", Camila beamed.

"Cool I'll start setting everything up.", I said as I made my way to the kitchen.

After our escape from cops last month I moved us to a small town in Kentucky. Not many people lived here; just a few elders and small families. They say that cops never come around these areas so I thought it would be perfect for us to stay. Camila found our old little cabin on the border of the woods near a lake. It was pretty well hidden and had a peaceful vibe to it so we settled here.

Dinah has grown restless to find us. Police stations across the world are on high alert to find us. We've had to exchange cars several times and every time we'd go out and do something we have to wear disguises to keep our identity hidden. We were known as the 'Sick Runaways' to everyone. The Kentucky people knew this, but they didn't seem to really care. They think us leaving a toxic place we found ourselves into was probably the best. So they got our back if cops come into play. You can't disrespect elders and the cops know it.

"Hey um... Lauren?", I heard Camila call me.

I placed the bag next to the stove and turned to look at her. She looked absolutely beautiful with her Adidas sweatshirt, torn pants, and some llama slippers.

"Yes baby?", I answered.

"Can we talk after dinner? It's kinda important.", Camila asked nervously.

Huh... wonder what she wants to talk about.

"Of course Camz. We'll cook, eat, and sit on the bed. You'll have my full attention.", I said as I kissed her forehead.

Camila nodded while leaving to the bathroom. I took all the ingredients out plus the pots and tools we'll need. I heard the bathroom door opened and Camila walked beside me. Her hair was up in a messy ponytail, but still stunning nonetheless.

"Go wash your hands while I start up here.", Camila ordered.

I smiled and pecked her lips as I left to the bathroom to wash my hands. I splashed some water on my face to rid some of the dirt that splattered my face. I looked at myself in the mirror and noticed something that always caught my eyes. My scars. They weren't the same anymore; they're faded and healed now. They're no longer open, bloody, infected, and wounded. They're just bruises and white, pink fleshy lines carved in me. It still amazes me how my life was turned into something like this.

One moment I was in a car with my loving family heading to our vacation spot... the next I'm here. In a cabin, in Kentucky, with faded scars on my body, living with my girlfriend. How crazy right? Like... wow.

"Lauren?", Camila's voice pulled me from my thoughts.

"Yeah?", I replied as I turned to her.

"Are you ok? You looked like you banked out there.", Camila said as she inched closer to me.
