[Ding! Quest #5. Be the last man standing on the Death Side. Rewards: None]

"Are you kidding me you want me to be the last man standing and without rewards what kind of quest is this? I will not do it!"

[Ding! Your pride is at a stake. If the host doesn't complete the Quest, the host will lose 5M EXP points and earn the title Coward]

Coward: Gets intimidates immediately...

"Are you insane 5M my cultivation will be destroyed not to mention everything will be gone! I prefer you when you are a quiet System..."

"Brother Ye... Are you okay?" Xiao Wu was pulling me from my arm...

"Yeah... sorry I got absorbed thinking" I turned to look at her...

'Pride eh... to win or to die is this your meaning system? Why push me now?'

Xiao Wu had a scared face looking at me I could see her shiver a little... I expanded my soul there was nothing near me to make her that scared. 'Could it be me?' I calmed down... indeed. It wasn't the system it was the Death Core. I could feel it pulsing, through the veins on my body. Sigh, doing whatever it wants. It got provoked by the Death Aura around me trying to suppress me.

"Your eyes..." Xiao Wu was in a defensive stance.

"Don't worry I won't hurt you. It's just my bloodline sometimes it goes out of control" I said with a forced smile on my face.

"Everyone has its secrets, I trust you." Xiao Wu calmed down.

"Rest, we will wait for the hours to pass on..."

"But, what about you?! Don't you need to kill like the rest of the people?" Xiao Wu asked showing her concern for me.

"Silly girl, do you think the same rules apply to me? Don't forget I came in without a token."

...

There weren't many hours left anyway. Xiao Wu stood there calmly talking about life... well she was a good girl once she talked she just won't shut up at all it was like Li Qi. One thing I learned about her was that she came from a humble background. His dad struggled as a mercenary to earn some spirit stones and some money for her precious daughter after his dad efforts and her being diligently she entered the MoonLake Sect. Another interesting fact was that well she wasn't interested in me like You Ye, she was into girls! When I knew it I laughed, she was in a sect full of girls, yep, the MoonLake Sect was an only girls Sect. You Ye instead she was born inside the sect, her mother was an awesome Nascent Soul cultivator, though she faced many troubles because she returned to the sect bearing a child. Many elders tried to suppress her and her child, it was rumored that the You Ye father was a worthless.

Since this test started 12 hours had passed, there were only 12 hours left, I still did not understand how to solve my current situation. How I'm supposed to be the last man standing.

...

It was time.

"Brother Ye... it's almost been 24 hours are you sure you will be ok?"

"Don't worry about that your Brother Ye has many trump cards"

It wasn't long before a light covered all her body and she disappeared it was like how You Ye disappeared.

"Shu Yi, Shu Er, do you see still white dots?"

"Yes, there is only one white dot remaining, its Li Qi, he seems to be in an enlightenment. All the black dots stopped. Some of them started to slowly disappear, they are getting crushed by the pressure."

"Master be careful"

'So that's how it is'

The pressure was increasing every second it passed, the death aura was getting thick. This aura was something different from when I absorb Death Points. Its origins should be far purer. An ancient being, I don't think so. Perhaps it was related to some antique items...

I was getting uncomfortable with so much pressure applied to my body, I was few hours in trance thinking about this Death Aura pressing against me. Releasing my Qi against it didn't work. The Death Core was restless, but I understood nothing at all. What was I supposed to do? The only thought I had right now is to endure it complete the Quest.

I couldn't endure it anymore otherwise the pressure will crush my body. Death wasn't affecting me, I was a corpse and a master at Death or that's what I thought. I released all my Qi and didn't even buy me a second, the Death aura got mixed in my meridians I couldn't control it. I understood something I wasn't altogether immune to Death. The only part of my body which wasn't affected was the Death Core.

I would not fulfil the quest at this rate, technically I was the last man standing on the Death Side but it seemed that unless I defeated this the quest won't end. I was in trouble this kind of Death was something of a higher level I could control. Upon having this thought I had a sudden flash of inspiration I could not control it but what about the Death Core? The Death Scripture!

Through the Death Scripture, I tried to control the Death Aura inside me; it took a while, but it was working the Death Aura was getting inhaled by the Death Core. I smiled I could see that once the Death Aura was getting absorbed; it tried to run away...

'Too late...'

Every Death Aura on the city was getting absorbed by the Death Core. The moment the Death Aura decreased the pressure was also decreasing after some hours there was no Death Aura in the city anymore. The Death Core ate it all. I could feel the Death Core refilling the Qi on my meridians but this time it was purer, the death element was purer than before, its thickness increased it was like the Death Aura it absorbed. I could feel my Qi was stronger, now the characteristics of death were more present.

[Ding! Quest #5. Completed. You maintained your pride.]

Yeah, I understood. Having the Death Core and being crushed by a Death Aura it was honestly laughable. No wonder the System issued this kind of quest.
