Chapter 32

I had sat around doing nothing from Friday until Tuesday. It was the most boring few days, I could not imagine doing this for two months. I had to leave the baby which we had decided to name Mia in the nurses station because she was not ready to be moved. I decided to go talk to Andrew about what I could do during the day so I wasn't bored out of my mind until January. Today was Wednesday so I had spent last night back at my own house. I got out of bed, took a quick shower and headed to his office. I knocked twice before I heard him yell for me to come in.

"Ah Skylar, I heard what happened. How are you?"

"I could be better, I came to talk to you switching jobs for the two months that I can't go on runs." I said and he nodded.

"What kind of thing did you have in mind? I know you can't do heavy lifting or things that require much movement."

"Well what things you have that I would be able to do?"

"Well, you can help Tom with the random things he does to keep this place up and running, which is mostly talking to people and keeping track of everyone, you can be a secretary, which takes care of housing arrangements, schedules for people, activities, and making sure that I hear about any complaints that one may have. This is a pretty large place with a little over 200 people so we need more than one secretary."

"Well then it's settled, I will be a secretary until I can go out on runs and then possibly work as a part time secretary after." I said causing him to laugh.

"I can't believe you want to work on your time off then work two jobs when you can start real work again."

"Well I want to be able to pay for what I used and what Mia will continue to use. The first run I want to do is to a hospital."

"That's something I wanted to talk to you about, you show great leadership and your group admires you. If you wanted depending on how well you work the next few months, maybe you'd want to have your own group?"

"What do you mean my own group?"

"You would have a group of about five to ten people that you're in charge of."

"That sounds good, however, only if you think I work well in the career that I'm in for the next two months." I said and he nodded.

"The crib was delivered and so was the stroller. Has someone set up the crib yet?" I nodded,

"Luke and Landon set it up while Blake and I were in the nurse area." I said and Andrew nodded. "I'm going to go back and talk to them more about what's going on, thanks for talking to me."

"No problem. You start your shift tomorrow. It is in the area right in front of the dining area, in that big open space with the desk and the computer." I nodded and left to head back to my house.
