Hours that felt like days passed as Casey was getting her stuff. I was nervous. And Phil was being Phil.
“Dan” Phil asked
I was staring at the door he turned to Phil “What?”
“Do you like her” Phil questioned.
“Pfft, no, why would you think that?”
“Because you have been staring at the door for hours on end and you are sweating.”
“No, It’s just, if she ends up being a really annoying house mate, it’s my fault.”
“Sure…” Phil went back to his sock staring position.
I shook his head and thought to himself. “like Casey, what is he talking about”
The doorbell rang.
“I’ll get it!” I said heading towards the door.
“No, it was my turn to get the door” Phil said sarcastically as he shoved his head into a pillow and stamped his feet.
“Stop it I am bloody serious” I said as if he were going to decapitate Phil.
“Um… answer the door, she will be one hundred and forty three by the time you get to it”
“Right” I opened the door.
“Hi” Casey said.
She walked straight to Phil “I’m Casey and I am guessing you are Phil”
“Hi” Said Phil as he was microwaving some noodles.
“Hi Dan” Casey said “So, where do you want me to put my stuff?”
