In the Split Second I'm Living

I have shivers from the cold

And shivers from the earth

The wind in my face

My life and its worth

My sight flies,

I pretend time never existed

And the earth stopped spinning.

My own little world

In the split second I'm living.

Is it worth all the big talk?

One feeling of freedom while bound in thick chains?

I would suppose so, but I guess it all depends on

How many things in your life are abstained.

Is that why we reach for the stars?

Climb mountains, jump from the very top of the sky?

Do we strive to find our limits, or find how fast and how far we can fly?

Do we seek knowledge for a sense that there will never be an end...

Or find a single end so that we can gain knowledge?

For not with a bang, but a whimper, will this world end

A coward's death, no grand pretend

Is this why we try so willingly

To create a life past our frail own?

To forge our life, set in stone

Knowing our end is to die alone?

I have shivers from the cold

And shivers from the earth

The wind in my face

A sweet song it is worth

A song of a million fragmented dreams.
