1: The Interview That Started it All

As I stared at myself in the mirror, my wet hair from my shower dangling around my shoulders and towel, I allowed myself to believe that I am truly happy. I am satisfied with my life and instead of just suffering through it silently like before, I actually quite enjoy my life. My dreams came true. And as if on cue, the person responsible for this barges in. Helen.

"What are you doing? We have to be at the interview in an hour and an a half and you haven't even finished getting ready yet? Hurry!" Same old Helen Kennedy. The same one I met for the first time 6 years ago, and she'll probably never change. The same old helen that I will always be grateful for.

"Fine, I'll be ready in a jiffy! Don't get your knickers in a twist!" I giggled as I tried my hand at a British accent, and not sounding half bad either!

"Whatever! Just make sure your ready by ten," and with that, she was off making some call in the hallway.

I sighed as I walked over to my suitcase by my bed. I didn't give my outfit much thought and went for a simple blue and white plaid shirt with a white tank top underneath and some white shorts with some navy vans with white stitching and shoelaces. Yeah, I'm color coordinated with my clothes, deal with it.

I brushed through my hair and used my white blow dryer covered with my old friends signatures to dry my hair and I threw it up in a tight ponytail. I then grabbed a different change of clothes for the interview and flew down the stairs.

I grabbed a quick breakfast consisting of a blueberry muffin and a cup of hot chocolate. I'm not the biggest fan of coffee. Helen had everything ready for me and by the time I had finished brushing my teeth after breakfast, it was 9:43. I walked out of the house feeling satisfied with my morning and walked into my car. Instead of driving the car that Helen bought for me, a really expensive car that I don't care for remembering the name of, I drove my car that would've been mine, regardless my fame.

Being the oldest sibling guaranteed the passing down of my moms car. A white '03 Camry sports edition with a rim and tinted back windows. This less flashy car has so far not gotten me recognized once while driving it around town.

Once I started the car, turned the radio on to a good station, buckled my seatbelt and adjusted my mirrors, I was off.

"Natalia! How have you been?" Ellen teased when I walked into the studio and she was me. Same old Ellen, always joking!

"Umm Natalia isn't my name. It's Natasha, Ellen, it hasn't been that long has it? Or are you just aging?" I teased Ellen for her teasing me about my name. We both chuckled and walked on stage.

The audience was still outside waiting to be allowed inside, so we just sat on the couches and chatted for a bit. About nothing in particular really, just what we've been up to since I was last on the show, which was about a year and a half ago, maybe two years. We talked about how I was discovered, which always seemed to fascinate her. And then just twenty-five short minutes later, I was told that I needed to go get my hair, make up, and wardrobe fixed. I said a quick goodbye to Ellen and walked briskly offstage again and made a beeline towards the hair and make up stations.
