You'd always been able to control metal. Ever since you were very little, nothing triggered it; it just was there. You expected some big company bad guy to come after you, but no one ever did. On this very special day, if you could say, you were drinking coffee at your favorite café; browsing Tumblr on your laptop. You mindlessly thought about little things, as you always did. That ever-present question: am I the only one out there? Surely not, you thought... But doubt was slowly sinking itself in more and more everyday. You shook your head, taking another sip of coffee; it warming your insides and making you smile. Your moment of bliss was interrupted by two men walking up to your table. 'So these are the corporate bad guys I've been waiting for,' you thought, as you look up at them. The one on the left, the shorter one, chuckled. He had strikingly blue eyes, and an intelligent aura to him.

"Charles Xavier, and no, I'm not the corporate bad guy you're looking for." He smiled, sticking his hand out to shake. You looked at him shocked for a moment, before the realization struck. 'I'm not the only one.' You grinned, shaking his hand. "You're a smart one, Y/N," Charles chuckled.

"Erik Lehnsherr," the other man said flatly, also sticking out his hand. You looked over at him, he was much taller than Charles, much more handsome also. You marveled at his cheekbones and the solemn look in his eyes. You cleared your throat, glancing at Charles, hoping he hadn't read your mind,  before placing your hand in Erik's.

"Y/N," you said quietly, a blush dusting across your cheeks. He tilted his head to the side slightly, before shaking your hand lightly. You cleared your throat again, as you pulled your hand away; a tingling sensation left drifting through your fingers. Charles smiled, clapping his hands together.

"Now, we have a reason for being here," you looked back up to him. "There's a university for people like you, we are just starting it. Would you like to come?" He smiled warmly. You thought for a moment, nothing to lose; considering your parents didn't contact you very often anyways. You closed your laptop, and grabbed your cup of coffee, standing.

"I'd love to," you said smiling. Charles and Erik lead you from the cafe and to this secret university. It was in the middle of nowhere, the drive taking several hours.

"I have an idea, but what is your... Skill?" Charles asked about halfway through the ride. You were flustered for a moment, you've never had to speak about your 'skill'. "Uh, thanks for asking," you smiled at him. "It's metal." You said simply.

"Metal?" Charles asked in masked disbelief, as he glanced over at a slumbering Erik. "Yes...." You said quietly. He smiled slightly, before placing two fingers on his temple and causing you to fall into sleep. While you were sleeping, Charles proceeded to wake up Erik, causing some loud swearing then a very long conversation on your mutation. A few hours later, once the three of you reached the mansion aka university; Erik carried you into the large building, placing you in the room that had ben set up for you. Him and Charles spoke to the other mutants, before sitting everyone at your bedside, waking you up. You opened your eyes to various new faces, anxiety welling in your chest at the new look in Erik's eyes.

"Welcome back, Y/N," Charles smiled at you as he dismissed the rest of the mutants.

"Whatever you put me to sleep for, I'm sure I could've handled it." You said groggily, sitting up in the bed.

"Well-" Charles started, looking over at Erik, who had begun speaking.

"Metal?" He said in his Polish accent, making you nod slowly. "I control metal, so that makes two of us..." He said, looking at you with those solemn eyes again.

"I'm going to leave you two alone." Charles said awkwardly, standing and leaving the room. You watched him leave, as you stood up in front of Erik.

"Is it even possible?" You asked quietly, looking around nervously. He outstretched his hand, pulling your necklace, that your father had given you when you turned thirteen, right from your neck. You looked at it floating in midair in fascination for a moment, before slowly raising your hand and pulling it back towards yourself. You locked eyes with him, making him chuckle slightly as he lowered his hand and the necklace placed itself back in your hand.  You grinned as you clasped it back on your neck.

"I didn't think it was possible." He said quietly, some of the sadness dissipating from his eyes, it replaced with light. He took a step towards you.  You smiled, encouraging him to speak further. "I thought I was the only one, I mean there's the others... But you." You blushed, looking down at your feet. You jumped as he snaked an arm around your waist, pulling you to him. "You understand," he whispered, his lips centimeters away from yours.

"I'm not alone anymore," you whispered back, making him chuckle softly.

"No, you're not." He said, before fitting his lips to yours, making you sigh and melt into him. You both broke away a few moments later, breathless, grinning at each other.

"I'm totally interrupting something," Hank said, stepping from the doorway. The two of you looked at him, then at each other, beginning to laugh.
