Vision...

I once had a vision.
I was stood in the centre of a field of flowers,
Bright trees surrounded me like towers,
My feet planted firmly on the ground,
The chirping of birds the only sound,

But this was only a vision.
My reality is a darkness that overpowers,
It's endless grey walls that surround me like towers,
My feet planted on a concrete floor,
Nothing facing me but a tall locked door.

All I could do was envision.
Envision myself anywhere but here,
Where darks thoughts aren't being whispered in my ear,
Where I could finally be free,
But freedom will only ever be a vision for me.
