Welcome to the lunacy that is NaNoWriMo. Thirty days of shoulder-hunching, knuckle-bleeding chicken scratches that will one day become a full-length novel.
While I've participated in Nano several times, posting a piece of work that is fresh-off-the-press is something new and totally scary for me. I never, ever share my first draft with people. I edit every chapter of every story obsessively multiple times before anyone locks eyes on it. I'm also attempting to write a technothriller, which is a genre I've been dying to try out.
So, here I am, prepared to submit my rawest form of writing to the scrutiny of my audience under pressure from my writing comrades who are doing the same thing here on Wattpad. If that doesn't prove my love for this amazing platform and unfettered trust in my devoted readers, then I've been royally duped.
Before we begin, please know that there is a very good chance I will bail on this insane experiment and revert back to my neurotic perfectionist self, secreting away the remaining chapters until they shine like a freshly-waxed upper lip. Because, as some of you may already know, I am also trying to finish book three of my gargoyles in love series. To this end, I cannot commit to a posting schedule until I get a few days in and see what kind of progress I make... and how quickly I drain the bottle.
So, without further ado (bidding better judgement farewell while downing a shot of something that burns), let the madness commence.
