Expectations

Picture perfect. That's what I thought I had to be. The exact photograph of a girl who had to be a people pleaser. Who had to live up to unrealistic expectations of others. This didn't fix anything. This didn't make anything better.

Now I live under the expectations of someone who cares. Under a God who makes things feel like they actually matter. I am no longer a slave to expectations.

All the broken pieces from that photograph are cleaned up and put back together but in a different order. The correct, messy, and imperfect order of a person who laughs, loves and lives her life under a God who has redeemed me.

We need to spend our time on those who need it most and not waste it on those who don't. We're not here to please man, we're here for God's will.
