"I understand but I don't know it Jen will. You really hurt her feelings," Ryan sighed gesturing for me to step inside.
"I know," I said ducking my head down in sorrow.
"Who was tha- what are you doing here?" Jen asked her mood changing as quickly as she used to dye her hair.
"Jenny, I'm sorry. I know it's not an excuse but I just miss your sister and what you have with Ryan I used to have with her and I get jealous. Which I know it's not right and I'm sorry. I don't want to lose you guys. I can't lose you guys. Not like I lost Aubs."
"Oh Justin," Jen sighed tears filling in her eyes as she walked over to me engulfing me with her arms.
"I'll give you two some time," Ryan said, quietly excusing himself.
I wrapped my arms around her shutting my eyes tight, pretending I was holding Aubrey one last time.
"You could never lose me Justin," she whispered. "Even of you wanted to. I'm like a leach. I'm here for life." This time she let out a soft half hearted smile.
"I love you, Jennifer."
"I love you Justin," She smiled giving me another right squeeze. "Do you want to stay for dinner?"
"Uh no. I've been at work all day. I have to get home to the children," I said half honestly. I didn't know if the sister if my dead wife would be upset by the face that I was going on my first date since the death.
"I'll walk you out," Ryan said, reappearing in the room.
I nodded and walked outside with him.
"I want to ask you something before you go," he said once we reached my car.
"Go for it," I asked leaning against the car interested.
"You know better than anyone that I love Jennifer. I want to ask your permission to marry her..."
"I... I don't really think you should ask me. I think you should ask Richard," I said in shock. I had honestly not seen the coming.
"I already did. He said yes but I need your permission before I can," he answered back, wanting an answer.
"Can I ask you something and then I will gladly answer. Would you want to marry her if she wasn't pregnant? Would she be the one you want to wake up to next to every day for the rest of your life? The one you want to grow old with? The one you can see yourself having a future with? Just because she's pregnant doesn't mean you have to be with her forever. You have a choice, Ryan. If you don't want to be with her then don't. Don't do something that will make you miserable."
Now don't get me wrong. I believe these two are intended for each other and I knew exactly how Ryan felt about her but this was the exact same speech I gave myself the night I found out Aubrey was pregnant.
"What does it say?" I asked sitting on Aubrey's perfectly made pink bed.
"We will have to wait another minute," she sighed pacing around at the foot of her bed.
"We should have been more careful. I feel like this is all my fault," I sighed placing my head in my hands.
"No baby. It was both of us. Sometimes things just happen. Maybe if it's positive this is gods way of telling us we do belong together forever. I mean not that I needed a sign but maybe our parents do," she said taking my hands off my face forcing me to look into her soft green eyes. "I love you. Baby or no baby. Nothing and no one will change that."
I nodded taking a deep breath. I always knew I wanted to marry Aubrey right when we got out of high school. I took one more deep breath to settle the nerves.
If I loved Aubrey as much as I knew I did why did we have to wait till we got out of high school to become engaged. Why did society get to decide when was an appropriate time for me to get married. Aubrey was right baby or no baby we were in love and no one was going to mess that up.
"It's time," she whisper taking a few steps towards her dresser.
"Wait before we find out the results, you were right. I love you Aubrey. That's never going to change. Baby or not I want to marry you. We belong together. I already have a ring. I was going to propose at your graduation party but it's feels right, now." I slid off the bed, propping myself up on one knee before asking her the life alternating question. "Will you marry me?"
"Yes!" She said flinging herself into my arms and giving me bone crushing hug.
We kissing quickly over and over before taking a look at the stick together.
"One." She started.
"Two," I whispered looking at her.
"Three," we spoke together turning over to receive the results.
"Hello? Earth to Justin. You there? Did you hear me?" Ryan asked looking at me oddly.
"I'm sorry what?" I asked.
"I said yes. I want her. Forever."
"Then who am I to stop you. Go marry the girl of your dreams," I smiled warmly at him.

I threw in a little but of history between aubrey and Justin there. I think I'm going to do that more often so you can see what it was like for them and how close they really were.
Sorry I haven't update in FOREVER! I have been so dang busy. I worked 5 days this week and I just finished up summer school and I'm getting ready to start my last year of high school so there has been a lot going on. But as an apology I made this part WAYYYY long then I usually would so I hope you like it!
Also I want to thank you guys for all the read and votes and comments. It really brightens my day and make me smile when I get the notification. I read every single comment. I'm not like pushing or asking you guys to get my read numbers up or to comment and vote more like some people do on here (not trying to be rude at all) but I'm just letting you know even small gestures like that I greatly appreciate. (:
