Chapter 16

To say Zayn was worried as fuck was a statement. In fact, he was beyond that point already.

In those 8 years of knowing Liam he'd never experienced him being so upset, sometimes a few tears slipped but that was nothing compared to this.

Zayn grabbed his stuff, packed a bag with clothes and some other things he would need and stormed towards his car. When he positioned himself in the front seat he wanted to start the car but noticed that he forgot to put on his shoes so he had to run back inside to get them.

After Zayn finally had everything he drove away as fast as possible. He probably broke at least a dozen traffic rules on his way to the airport, one of them being using his phone to book a ticket to London, be he couldn't care less.

Walking towards the airport he realized that he didn't have security with him. Oh well... it probably wouldn't become such a problem. Boy he was wrong!

Seen the fact that the plane could board in about 2 hours Zayn needed to sit somewhere and just wait.

He decided to grab some coffee at the way to the waiting hall. That, was his biggest mistake.

The girl behind the bar was luckily being discrete but her colleague wasn't. Squeeling he came towards Zayn and asked for an authograph.

Normaly Zayn would've said yes but being in the state of mind he was you couldn't blame him for not even taking  note at the question.

The ignored guy being upset decided to post a picture of Zayn on every social media he had with the line:

'He's doing a meet and greet here at the airport. For free!'

And as people would expect, soon the airport was being mobbed by screaming fans.

Zayn, noticing that he wasn't going to be able to go towards the gates without any help decided to run towards an officer to ask for it.

Well... he tried.

Almost halfway there he tripped and fell to the ground, not daring to turn around or stand up he just laid still and waited for help.

The airport security must have noticed that he was in trouble as he heard them trying to pray the fans away from him.

A girl was pushed on the ground next to him and cried out in pain.

"Are you alright?"

"N-no. I just want to get a-away from here but I don't know where my parents are a-and these people k-kept pushing m-me!"

She started to sob so Zayn carefully wrapped an arm around her shaking shoulders.

It was now that he understood why Niall freaked out sometimes, warned the fans to be careful at these events or tried to stop them from pushing eachother against the bars at a red carpet.

This was absurd! And the girl didn't even ask for it!

Finally the security reached the duo and helped them up. Zayn wrapped the girl in a hug and hushed her.

He took her towards a private room to have a quiet talk while someone of the staff would make a call to find her parents.

"So how old are you?" Zayn awkwardly started the conversation with the teenager who was still clenching her arms around his waist.

"13," she aswered with a shaky voice.

Slowly Zayn moved to a small couch and carefully sat down.

"Are you okay?" Stupid, he thought, I should've asked that first!

The girl hestitantly unwrapped her arms and checked herself over.

"My clothes are a bit ripped and my glasses are broken but I'm okay. I guess..."

They fell into an akward silence. Zayn broke it. He felt like he had to do something to make it up to the girl.

"You know what? We're going to shop soon. It's kinda my fault that your clothes are ruined so- yeah."

The small smile on the girls face became bigger and bigger until it reached her baby blue eyes and she flung her arms around Zayn's neck hugging him thight.

"Oh thank you, thank you, thank you so much!"

Her blond-brown hair was in his face, tickling his nose but Zayn didn't mind. It felt good to make people happy.
