'Stop, cause it's overwhelming and I'm not prepared for goodbye. But you fucked up and you're trying to hide it, you can't let go of your pride'

"Are you sure you're ready to go back?" Otis asked Lilianna as she packed her things into her book bag.

"I have to go. I am not going to let him think I'm scared and weak or a child. I won't let him win like that." She sighed.

"Win like what Anna? If anything, you not being there is him losing." Otis tried to convince her not to go.

"I'll be fine. I have to do this. I'm a doctor. It's what we do." She tried to reassure herself more than him when she spoke.

"Lilianna listen to me if you don't want to then you don't have to. Nothing bad is gonna happen if you take some time to fully recover." Otis held her hands, trying to get her to listen.

"If I haven't been able to recover in seventeen years then I'm not gonna recover in a week." She snapped, pulling her hands from his and closing her bag.

"What are you talking-"

"I know you saw my meds. They weren't on the same spot on the counter when I went in to put them back in my drawer. I'm left-handed, the bag was on the left side of the counter. I would never put it there. One of you saw them and I'm assuming it was you because if it was Mikale he would have confronted me about it." She cut him off, her anger clear in her voice.

"Anna, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have snooped but I was concerned and I still am for your health and well being."

"And you think Vendetta is gonna make it worse? That's a kicker."

"Lilianna I'm being serious. He's not a force to be reckoned with-"

"And I'm not one to be reckoned with either. I can do just as much harm to him as he can to me. I'm not scared of him! If he thinks he can just treat me like an object then he's very wrong and I will make sure he knows he's wrong too. I'm done letting people like him, and Mikale, and even you tell me what I should and shouldn't do with my life! I'm a legal adult, let me make my own decisions damn it!" She ranted.

"Lilianna, I just want what's best for you."

"And that's cool. Thanks for caring. But my whole life I've had to do everything on my own. I never had anyone tell me what to do or where to go. I never had anyone who cared about what happened to me. So I'm pretty sure I'm capable of doing this on my own since I've been doing it since I was four." She snapped, throwing her bag over her shoulder and pushing past him and running down the stairs.

"MIKALE!" Otis screamed.

Mikale quickly perked up when he heard his name from the stairs. He stood up and walked out of the kitchen to see Lilianna grab her coat and his keys before slamming the door shut.

"LILIANNA!" Mikale screamed, running after her. He sprinted down the driveway and across the street. She was already in the car and had locked the doors. He slammed his hand on the window but she didn't even flinch.

"I swear to god Lilianna, get the fuck out of my car right-" Mikale yelled, but he was cut off by the Range Rover engine starting. "Don't you dare!"

She turned to the window, smiled and waved at Mikale, before slamming her foot onto the gas pedal, speeding down the street, leaving Mikale a stunned, angry, screaming mess in the middle of the road.

Pulling onto the tarmac, Lilianna laughed at the rebellious actions she had taken to get to the airport.

"They are going to kill me." She sighed, smiling nonetheless.
