"I can't," she said, through her tears,
She was clenching the knife, shivering in fear.

"I can't," she said, raising her voice,
Between life and death, would she make the choice?

She took a deep breath, letting herself cry,
To hold it in any longer, she couldn't try.

The anxiety was rippling through her chest,
All she wanted was to leave, to rest.

Her mother's laugh, her father's smile,
Would vanish forever, in a while.

Her brother's young heart would be forced to grow old,
It would turn to steel, what once was gold.

Her heart was anchored, but her mind wished to go,
Her spirits were at an all time low.

She didn't want to lose, she wanted to fight,
She had to make everything right.

She wouldn't allow them to taunt, to label, to name,
To another she couldn't let them do the same.

A choice was made to end her strife,
"I will," she said, embracing her life.
