I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you for reading. I have enjoyed the comments immensely and found some of them very helpful and every vote was so much appreciated. I love this story to pieces, I finished it when I was eighteen, some 5 years ago, and it has taken me this long just to share it to a wider audience. The first graveyard scene with unearthing Anton and the Halloween Ball I used for my final major project, and was able to get a top grade with it but still I wasn't happy with it.
I don't know if I will ever be happy with it. While drafting it again on here I have thought of some extra bits to add in and there is a lot I need to research about the times, how they spoke, dressed, conducted themselves, political and news affairs that were happening at the time, popular dance and music ect to try and make it as authentic as possible. I plan on re-writing it and self-publishing it on Lulu.com, so it can be read online or as a real physical books, at a small cost, because for me it isn't about the money, its about making people satisfied about reading a good book, making them feel like they haven’t wasted their time.
I hope you can understand why Anton had to die. It was the ultimate symbol of love, to sacrifice his own life to keep Ruby's safe. There will never be a greater and more powerful love than that. After everything that had happened there was no way they could have been together, it wouldn't have made sense.
I am going to be working Amaranth next, another vampire story with a bit of a different twist, which I hope you will enjoy. The language will be a bit different and not as heavy as it is in this story, because I tried to write it in a Victorian style as much as I could, not being a Victorian myself :P So please, if you enjoy my writing please check out Amaranth and let me know what you think.
Again, thank you ever so much and here are some songs which I think really reflect Dark Ruby. Watch the videos and look up the lyrics, you will see why they fit this story.
