Chapter 13

I followed Chris to the cafeteria and he ordered a coffee and I ordered a sweet tea. We went to a table and he pulled a chair out for me so I could sit.

I thought to myself what a gentleman, Raphael would sometimes pull a chair out for me when we would go to special events that my father organized, but other than that he would never do that.

"I'm sorry for what happened to your friend, I'm glad he's better."

He looked up to me and and grabbed my hand.

"There's no need to apologize, I'm glad your here with me. I also want to thank you for bringing your friend over, I know Erick will be glad when he wakes up"

"How long have you known Erick?"

"Since we were in kids, why?"

"It's cause you seemed so worried this morning."

"Erick is like a brother to me and since I don't have any siblings, I consider him and another friend named Andres"

"Andres, was the other guy that was dancing with my friend Gracie at the club, right?"

"Yes, that's Andres."

"Oh, that's nice to know."

"It looks like your friends and mine got quite along don't you think?"

His face started getting near mine and I started getting nervous and thank god his phone started ringing.

"Hello Eduardo"

"Yes, he got out of surgery and we are just waiting for him to wake up"

"Yes, I will keep you updated, thanks again for everything. I'll see you in a couple days.

He ended his call and looked a me and grabbed my hand again. That was your father.

"He was probably worried about you and your friend."

"You know your father is a good man."

"Yes he is." I smiled because I indeed had a great family.

"Lilian I want to talk about something that caught my attention this morning?"

"Was there something wrong with the documents?"

"No, Who sent you those flowers this morning I thought you didn't have anyone."

"Look, Chris I'm really not in the mood to talk about that topic, I better look for Jessica we have to leave." Just as I stood up Chris grabbed my arm.

"Lilian, I know Raphael hurt you and you probably think I'll do the same, but I'm not like that bastard."

"How do you know Raphael? I asked him as I was getting mad"

"I know him very well, I caught that bastard with my ex four years ago."

"What?" I could feel my eyes water.

"Yes, Raphael Santizo your Ex fiancé.Look Lilian, That bastard isn't even worth your tears or you, please don't cry."

He pulled me close to him as, but I pushed him away.

"How would I know you wouldn't do the same thing, all men are the same they can't just be with one woman!"

I turned around and headed towards the restrooms, but he grabbed me and kissed me. The kiss was so gentle, but demanding making me want more. I felt so weak with his kiss. I had never es experience anything like this with Raphael. His cologne scent and his kisses were driving me crazy, but I opened my eyes and I pushed him away again.

"No, stop this isn't right."

"Lilian, How isn't this right?"

"Because your my fathers business partner! I can't have this happen, this isn't right.

"Is that the reason?"

I looked at him and didn't respond. I rushed towards the room Erick was in and opened the door. Turns out Erick and Jessica were kissing as I closed the door, they both separated."

"Lilian, look Erick is awake!"

"Erick it's nice to see that your awake and much better. Jessica, Gracie wanted to have dinner with us, can we leave?"

Lilian, I want to thank you for bringing her in, but can Jessica stay? I'll have my parents drop her off to her house."

"No need to thank me, and of course if that's what Jessica wants.

Chris then walked in the room and went said
"Erick brother it's so good to see you awake. How do you feel?"

"Everything hurts, but I'll live."

"I have to get going now, Erick I'm glad your better and Jessica I'll call you tomorrow. Good night everyone. I was hoping Chris would not come out, but he said "since your leaving, I'll walk you outside, I'm guessing these two want to be alone."

I walked out and Chris followed.

"Lilian, let me take you out to dinner since it's almost 7pm"

"No, I actually having dinner with someone."

He grabbed me and said "Are you having dinner with Raphael?"

"No, I am not and That's none of your business to know who I have dinner with. if you could please let go I have to go."

I pulled away and went straight to my car and left Chris standing there with a mad face.

I thought to myself I need to stay away from him! Hopefully he understands this can't happen again. I left to the restaurant Gracie messaged me and I for some reason I felt like someone was following. I knew that wasn't Chris cause he had a 2018 truck, and this car was a black car.
