Trick or Treat or other things Michael doesn't understand - Midam

It was a cold day at the end of October. To be specific it was the last day of October; it was Halloween.
That was the day where - suddenly - the young student was ripped out of his studies by a familair sound of something soft parting the air.
Before he was able to turn around he felt how two arms were wrapped around his torso and someone leaned his head against his shoulder; lightly gazing over it.

The student couldn't help but smile. "Michael", he tried to look at the angel  from the corner of his eyes but could only see the dark hair of said creature. "It's nice to see you again."
Michael had been away for the past two weeks since the other angels needed him up there in heaven.
"It's also nice to see you again." He felt how the male angel moved closer and soon he was also able to feel the soft lips on his cheek.

He closed his eyes and leaned onto the touches, he really missed Michael and the affection he showed him.
"I missed you ..." He muttered, his lips still close to Adam's cheek, causing the human to chuckle. "I missed you too ..."
"What do you think? Should we do something together today?"
"Sure! Anything you have in your mind?"
He felt how the archangel shook his head. "Not really. I just want to enjoy your presence again."
Adam smiled. "I guess I have a good idea for that."
"What is your idea?"
"Hmm ..." He leaned closer to the angel, "you'll see ... But can I finish studying first?"
"Of course. I'll go and grab something to read too." He placed another kiss on the blonde ones cheek and let go of him; leaving the room.

It actually took a surprisingly long time for Michael to come back into Adams room and when he entered it he had a confused expression on his face; something Adam only realized when Michael startes to speak. "Adam ... I feel like our neighbours have lost their mind ..."
The blonde one tilted his head in confusion and looked at his angel boyfriend. "Why do you think that, Mike?"
"Haven't you noticed how the street looks like? There are pumpkins in front of the houses and other strange things like skeletons or ghosts ..." He shrugged and still looked a bit confused while he rubbed the back of his head with one hand. "I feel like they might need some help-" He went silent when he heard how the young adult started to laugh. "What's so funny, Adam?"
The fact that Michael looked even more confused made Adam laugh even more.
He literally had to turn around so he didn't face his boyfriend anymore.

When he finally calmed down he was able to turn around again. "Michael they are completely fine. That's normal."
"Normal? It never looked like that, Adam!"
"It's Halloween, Michael!"
The black haired ones expression didn't change, he was still confused and slowly asked: "Halloween ...?" He scratched the back of his head. "What is ... Halloween?"
Adam stared at the other one with a blank expression until a grin started to appear on his face. "You don't know what Halloween is ..." He chuckled. "My boyfriend is too old to know Halloween is ..."
"I am not old, Adam!"
He couldn't help but laugh again when he heard Michael's insulted tone. "I am quite young for my species!"
"Of course you are, darling."
"Whenever you call me darling you sound sarcastic ..."
"That's because I am sarcastic right now, Mike."
He put his books away and stood up, walking ovee to Michael. "But you'll understand what it is sooner or later today." He was still grinning while he walked out. This will be fun ...

It was around 6 pm when people started to ring the bell and the person that opened the door happened to be Michael.
The archangel stood in front of some eight year olds that were dressed as different things. He saw one that was dressed up as a ghost, the devil, a cowboy and a fairy.
He looked down at them in confusion while they looked up to him with a happy and excited expression.
"Trick or treat!"
And now the angel looked even more confused while he stared down at the children. Then he just answered with a 'no' and was about to close the door but his grinning boyfriend stopped him while he carried a bowl of candy and tried his best not to laugh. "No Michael, you can't do that."
He opened the door again and kneeled down to the children, holding out the bowl to the now also confused children that quickly started to smile when they saw the candy.
The black haired one watched his boyfriend and the children in confusion and waited until the kids left.

"Adam what were you doing?" He asks as soon as his boyfriend closed the door and stood up again.
"I gave them sweets?"
"But why?"
"It's a Halloween tradition. Kids knock at different houses, say 'trick or treat' and get candy."
Michael was silent for some time until he shook his head. "But it's dangerous to knock at strangers doors."
"That's why their parents go with them. Even right now there were their parents, you were just too confused to see them."
He walked over to the kitchen and put the bowl away again.
"But this tradition doesn't make sense. Also why were they wearing these weird clothes?"
"Those are their costumes. They dress up as creepy creatures - or at least what they think is creepy."
"And what was this red thing with the horns? A red cow? Which child is scared of a cow, Adam?"
And again the blonde male started to laugh and confused the archangel with it.
"That's supposed to be the devil!"
"Lucifer doesn't have horns! Also he isn't red."
Adam wasn't able to answer the angel, he tried not to die from his laughter.

It was around 10 pm by now and Adam put away the empty bowl that had been filled with sweets.
Michael watched him with his arms crossed. "Now we can't do anything together anymore."
"You're wrong Michael. Now we can participate in a Halloween tradition that you will like."
The angel raised an eyebrow and looked at the young adult with a sceptical expression. "Are you sure about that?"
"Yeah, follow me."

Around 15 minutes later the two men were lying on the sofa, wrapped in their blankets. It was dark around them since Adam turned out the lights and closed the shutters to 'set the right mood'.
Michael looked back and forth to the screen and the human next to him.
He didn't understand why anyone would watch a movie that made them clinge onto the person next to him.
Also the protagonists were quite dumb in his opinion and all this paranormal stuff didn't make sense either.
But he wouldn't question that right now.
At least he could enjoy Adam's presence now again.
The archangel moved closer and wrapped his arms around the blonde one; kissing him on the cheek just like he did in the noon.
Halloween was weird and nothing he could understand but at least he got his boyfriend.
