Meanwhile, where ever Marina was.
"So you got your magic?" Eli, a half Japanese, half Korean flower boy about the same age as Marina, asked, whispering as he and Marina jumped from roof top to roof top.
"Yep." Marina ansered him. They both talked to each other behind their face covers. They couldn't be secret ninjas without the basics: face covers, katanas, which only Marina had because Eli never brought any weapons, and ninja stars, excluding Eli again. "And look what I can do." As soon as they arrived at their destination Marina decided to show him what she had been practicing since she got her magic. Eli scanned the area to make sure they were safe before turning around to see what she was about to show him. Marina flicked her wrist and a blade grew from within her hand and it was light blue with magic. The magically metallic blade continued to grow until it was completely formed. It was a katana. "Learned that from watching my cousin." Marina smiled.
"Wow!" Eli exclaimed quietly. "Now you can leave your katana behind when we go on missions too." He physically asked for permission to hold the blade by touching her hand around the handle. Miranda handed it over.
"Eli!" Marina gasped.
Eli turned around just in time to pary an opposing blade using Marina's. He slashed and the other ninja flipped out of the way. Landing, the other ninja tried attacking again. Eli dodged the blade and tried to slash again but the other guy jumped over him and kicked him in the back. Eli sommersaulted to avoid falling and twisted his body to face the other guy again. The other guy breathed deeply as more ninjas joined them. They all just emerged from the shadows on the roof.
"Here Marina." Eli drove her blade into the stone and let it stand on its own without looking back at her. "You might need this. I got this guy." He told her and dashed after the other ninja. The other ninja readied himself with his blade in both hands.
Marina jumped and twisted to dodge fists and feet when the other ninjas rushed her. She grabbed her blade from the stone mid-air and started slashing. They were nothing but shadows so once slashed, they dissipated further into the darkness. She ducked under a fist and slashed the offender in half as he dissipated as well. She jumped and twisted skillfully to avoid ninja stars that stung the wall she was standing in front of. She landed crouching invertedly holding her katana behind her back. Two more ninjas targeted her, unharmed. They began to walk around her and she kept a constant view on both of them as her ponytail swung back and forth when she looked around. She was the first to attack between the three. She twisted her wrist and slashed repeatedly at one as he flipped to avoid his imminent dissipation. The other behnd her ran after her and she ducked to avoid a high kick. She back slashed and he jumped over the slashing path, jumping over her and attempting to slam his foot down onto her. Rolling away, the stone where she was cracked under the impact of his heel. Using her magic she lifted him up just a bit and pushed him into the other one. They piled up against each other on the floor before they smartly jumped back to their feet One melted back into the shadow on the floor and the second jumped high into the air aiming another foor at her. Before his foot had a chance to make contact with her she grabbed him around the extended ankle and swung him, slamming him into the floor, which he quickly melted into the shadow as well. As those two hid under the shadows three more rushed her. She did a one-handed backflip, kicking one of them as her feet came up into the air and slamming her foot down on another when she brought her feet back down to the floor. When she got back up she grabbed an "offered" fist, pulled that fist's owner to her and kneed him in the stomach, flipping him onto his back, and stabbing him through the chest. As he dissipated she she reused her katana to slash a rusher and twisted her body artistically to avoid two other blades, one from above and the other from below. When she landed she had to pull the other katana from her back and connected with both of their blades, stopping their movements. Remember the two that melted into the shadows earlier? After Marina forced the two back and dissipated them those two emerged, jumping out, from the shadows around her. One grabbed her from behind but she used her legs to confront the other. She used her legs to push off of him and jumped back to her feet.
