Chapter 12: Big problem

Hi guys, the last time I updated this story was I think 6 months ago and I'm really sorry about that. Anyway I'm planning on finishing this story which means I'm probably only working on this story the next time. Hope you enjoy reading.

"Rouge I'm scared." Cream said as she got closer to Rouge. "Don't you worry Cream, as long as the others are with us, nothing can happen to us." Rouge said cheering Cream up. "Can someone remind me, why we took those two with us again." Knuckles said annoyed. "Shut up Knuckles, better keep your eyes open." Shadow said interrupting Knuckles before he says something stupid again.

"How far ahead can they be, I mean they don't have light and it's to dark to run in here." Blaze said, wondering when they will find the princes and her personal guard. "I don't know, but knowing Sonic, he has some idea of getting far ahead of us." Silver said and Shadow agreed.

Meanwhile not far ahead of the others ....

"Sonic, could you maybe slow down a bit, you almost ran into the wall like five times now." Amy said fearing that he or herself will get hurt. "Can't do Amy, if we want to be ahead of my brothers and the others we have to- oww!" Sonic said as he once again ran right onto a huge stone. "- maybe you are right."

"Told you." Amy said and crossed her arms after she got off his back. "Any idea how far the exit is?" Amy asked after Sonic stood up. "No idea, just keep moving, I'm sure the exit can't be that far ahead anymore." Sonic said optimistic. "If you say so." Amy said a bit skeptical.

After another 20 minutes wandering in the dark corridors of the cave, Sonic and Amy came to a huge hall-like place, which was a lot lighter than the corridors. "Wow, I have to admit, this place is impressive." Sonic said as he and Amy looked around. "I'm glad you like it that much cause this place is going to be your grave." someone in the dark said.

Amy immediately got closer to Sonic "Sonic, that voice sounds familiar." Amy whispered. "I know."  Sonic said and got into fighting position, with his sword in front of him "WHO ARE YOU, SHOW YOURSELF!" 

"If you insist." The person said and stepped out of the shadows. "SCOURGE!" Sonic and Amy said surprised. "What are you doing here?" Sonic asked, not happy to see him. "I'm just here to take back my princess. Now, will you give her to me or do I have to take her back by force?" Scourge asked, also getting into fighting position. 

"As if I would just hand her over. Now step aside or I have to fight you." Sonic said, sure that he will win anyway. "Very well." Scourge said and jumped down the stone he stood on. "Sonic, please don't, I'm sure he's up to something." Amy said imploringly. "Don't worry Amy, he's no match for me." Sonic said competent.

Sonic immediately ran straight at Scourge, who hasn't moved an inch till now. "Heh, that's going to be easy." Sonic thought and was about to strike the green hedgehog down as he suddenly was knocked aside himself. "What the- oh no, that's not good." Sonic said as he saw his attacker next to Scourge.

"Do you like my pet, I promise he will take good care of you while I will take Amy back." Scourge said smiling as he petted his pet's shoulder. "Why the heck do you have a dragon as pet?" Sonic asked not happy that he has to fight a dragon too. "That's none of your business, now be prepared to die." Scourge said and gave his dragon the command to attack. 

"Sonic look out." Amy said worried as she watched from behind a rock. "Great, how am I supposed to protect her from Scourge while I have to battle this oversized lizard." Sonic thought as he saw Scourge looking towards Amy. 

While Sonic was busy fighting the dragon, Scourge wasted no time to get Amy. "You are coming with me princess."Scourge said once he was right in front of her.

"No stay away from me." Amy screamed and scratched him with her own sword. Scourge was surprised as he saw the blood on his fingers after he touched the cut on his cheek.

He looked up at Amy and was amused as he saw her standing there with the sword in her hands while trying to look brave. "Ha, you really think you have a chance against me, very well." Scourge said smirking.

Scourge looked back towards his pet, checking if he was keeping Sonic busy before he looked back at Amy. Amy looked quite scared as Scourge hold up his sword and took the first strike at Amy, who could dodge the attack right in time.

"Oho, I see you aren't as helpless as I thought you would be, but if you want to do this the hard way, fine by me." Scourge said. Amy now got really scared and she tried to remember everything Sonic taught her about swordsmanship.

Amy managed to block a few more attacks but then Scourge pushed her sword away. "Now be a good little princess and come with me." Scourge said as he grabbed her arm quite roughly. "No, let go of me ... SONIC!" Amy yelled as Scourge pulled her towards him.

As Sonic saw Scourge taking a hold on Amy he tried his best to get towards her but the dragon got immediately in his way. "AMY!" Sonic yelled as he tried to strike the dragon but the creature pushed him on the wall with his big claws.

Sonic winced in pain, but he was lucky to get his sword in between him and the dragons claws. "I hope you said your goodbys, cause you will never see eachother again. Enjoy your dinner my pet." Scourge said before he walked down a dark corridor, while holding Amy over his shoulder like a bag of potatos.

"Amy no" Sonic thought as he saw Scourge walking away. "I can't let that happen, I'm her guard I HAVE TO PROTECG HER" Sonic yelled as he moved his sword aside and stabbed  into the beasts paw.

The dragon let go off Sonic, who was scratched on his right side. Sonic ignored the pain and blood stain, which formed on his clothes and was about to ran after Amy but the dragon had other thoughts about that.

The dragon striked at Sonic with his claws again and managed to throw his sword out of his hands. And before Sonic could react the dragon had him already pushed on the ground. Sonic was sure he would die any second and he closed his eyes waiting for the dragon to kill him. "I'm so sorry Amy, I failed to protect you."
