~ Chapter 6 - First Record ~

Start from the beginning

"Ready, Ellie?" I heard Morgan's voice say through the head-set.

I nodded.

I watched Morgan press a button and music started playing in all our headsets.

A small wave of relief rushed through me as I realized he had chosen the right musical accompaniment. I listened, ready to start singing, when I looked up at Niall and he grinned at me, giving me a thumbs up encouraging me.

It's probably what's best for you

I only want the best for you

and if I'm not the best

then you're stuck

I looked up at the boys and I saw them intently watching me, listening, Eleanor doing the same.

I tried to sever ties

and I ended up with wounds to bind

like you're pouring salt in my cuts

I then put as much power in my voice as I possibly could, matching the bass.

And I just ran out of band aids

I don't even know where to start

cause you can bandage the damage

I looked at everyone again and they looked at me in awe, including Morgan who was pushing up switches at his control table.

you never really can fix a heart

Even now I know what's wrong

how could I be so sure

if you never say what you feel, feel

I looked at Niall at the last part and he just watched me, mouth ajar.

I must have held you hand so tight

you didn't have the will to fight

I guess you needed more time to heal

Baby I just ran out of band aids

I don't even know where to start

cause you can bandage the damage

you never really can fix a heart

ohhh ohhh...

yeah ohhh..yeah

You must be a miracle worker

swearing up and down you can fix

what's been broken yeah

please don't get my hopes up no no

baby tell me how could you be so cruel

I took a deep breath and listened to the music I created. And before I knew it, I needed to sing again.

It's like you're pouring salt on my cuts

Baby I just ran out of band aids

I don't even know where to start

cause you can bandage the damage

you never really can fix a heart

I had so much power in my voice, my shoulders started shaking with every syllable I sang, and I had such emotion on my face. I was really into the song, so to say.

Baby I just ran out of band aids

I don't even know where to start

cause you can bandage the damage

you never really can fix a heart

oh no no no

you never really can fix a heart

oh no no no

you never really can fix a heart

I listened as the music changed a bit and got ready for the last few verses.

oh hoo ohhh

oh hoo yeah ohhh ohh ho oh oh oh

You never really can fix my heart

The music ended and I waited for Morgan to stop the recording before saying, "So? Did you like it?"

They all looked at me, big eyes.

"That bad, aye?" I murmured into the mic and slipped the headphones off my head and put them back on the rack before walking over to the door.

But when I opened the door, I got a reaction I was not expecting.

Niall rushed to me and picked me up, spinning me around, kissing my cheek, "Holy shit, Ellie! That was amazing!"

I giggled, "Really?"

"Fuck yeah!" Zayn cried.

"I had no idea you had that in you!" Eleanor smiled, hugging me when Niall had set me down.

"Wanna listen to yourself, Ellie?" Moran asked, handing me headphones.

I shrugged, slipping them on, "Why not."

I heard the music start up again and then my voice. And wow. I was actually pretty good.

When the song was over again, Niall grinned and hugged me, whispering, "Damn, Ellie. You have a better voice than I do."

I kissed his cheek, whispering back, "You liar. No one is better than you."

He chuckled, "Yeah, sure."

We pulled apart and Morgan smiled, "Ready to record another?"

I nodded, "Defiantly, but I have a favor."

"Sure," Morgan said.

I turned to all the boys and Eleanor, "Can you all leave and sit in the sitting room? I want to sing a new song at each concert, so by your last concert, all of my songs will be released."

"But, we wanna hear them," Harry pouted.

"You will, but only in the concerts. After a concert, you can listen to the ones that have been released, just not before."

Louis groaned, "Fine, you party pooper."

They all walked out and Niall being last, kissed my cheek again, "Good luck. Not that you need it."

I chuckled, "Thanks."

When everyone was out, I turned to Morgan. "Track two?"

He grinned and put his headset back on as I went into the extra room again, placing my own headset on my head. Within seconds, the next song started playing.

And for all you people out there who have never been a recording studio before, just let me say that it's one of the most amazing experiences ever. You have got to believe me when I say this, because there really is nothing like it. Truely.

Author's Note:

Okay, to start off, I LOVE THIS SONG.

Next off, I do know this song is Demi Lovato's and I AM NOT trying to steal her song. Just for the sake of this fanfiction, it is going to be titled, 'Ellie's'. So, please don't tell me not to steal her song, because that's not what I'm trying to do. I respect the fact I do not own this song.

And Ellie sings 'Fix a Heart' the exact way Demi sings it, so if you wanna take a listen.....

Next, if you haven't noticed, I have started doing one-shots, so go and sign-up! They never close and sign-ups are always open!

Um, school is starting up for me in two weeks, BLEH. So, if I start updating really slow, I"M REALLY SORRY. I'll do my very best to keep everything updated, but depending on school work, I don't know what's going to happen. Just thought I'd warn you.
