"Dude, why would you say that? Y'just screwed yourself over." Lucky was laid out on the couch sipping a beer.
"Luck's right, you're gonna have to come up with another girl." Garret leaned against the pool table, also having a beer in hand while I was debating on going straight to whiskey.
"I don't even wanna think of getting another girl." I cracked open another beer.
Lucky bounced his eyebrows.
"Yeahhh, because he wants this one!"
Garret and Lucky laughed while I rolled my eyes and took a long swig of beer.
"Well, you're not denying it." Garret smirked.
I took yet another swig of beer as an excuse for not talking.
"I told you, he's whipped."
I clenched my jaw.
"Wanna stop saying that?" I slammed my bottle town on the table.
"Whoa whoa, brother. We can't get all pissy at anyone who knows how to press a button. Look at me, I'm a big ass black dude. You think it'd be smart of me to start fights with every damn person that asks me if I play basketball?"
He was right. I was ready to snap at Lucky, my best friend since highschool. Because of one simple comment? About some girl? No, not some girl. She was more than that, at least I think she is... honestly, I'm not sure what I'm feeling towards her. I just know when she told my she already had a date, I had felt defeated.
"Mayyy wanna slow it down on the beer, bud." Lucky still smiled, he knew I was confused. Maybe that's why he's always teasing me. It's like he's forcing me to face my feelings. I didn't know if I wanted to punch him in his face or give him a hug.
"I'm not going."
"Oh yes you are."
"I don't actually have a date, you know that right?"
"Of course I know that, I'm not gonna sugar coat it. When it comes to guys you're like a turtle - you're quiet, slow, and in your shell most of the time." Lacey adjusted her glasses.
"Wow, no sugar on that one."
"...We're just gonna have to get you a date," she smirked.
"Ooh! I know! What about that Spanish guy that's always hitting on you on campus?"
"Oh! Or maybe that one guy that's always asking you out?"
"Which one? And isn't that kind of harrassment?"
"Sorry, I forgot how much the men love you..."
She began to think.
"I know a guy," she smiled.
"His name is Keith, super adorable, nice personality and he's a gentleman!"
"Lace, I really don't like the idea of using a guy-"
"-Don't worry, he already has the hots for someone else - he wants to show her he can be dating material. Win win!"
I sighed. Was I really going to do this? I wanted to avoid the date with Noah, but it only got me on a date with someone else.
You should've said yes to Noah, you know you wanted to.
