This chapter is dedicated to my sister, fallzswimmer, for helping me jumpstart my new story idea. I'm not sure exactly when the first chapter will be released but I promise you all will be the first to know. Love ya big sis!
"What was that all about?" Emily asked as soon as I approached Ty's car, no doubt with a look of annoyance plastered across my face.
Ty himself was leaning against the divers side door and Porter was sitting on the hood of the car, a book in hand. "I don't even know, honestly," I told her with a shrug of my shoulders. "I think Jack has completely lost his mind."
"He's an idiot," Emily said.
"Yeah, a total idiot," Porter chimed in absentmindedly, his head still buried in his book.
Ty slung his arm over Emily's shoulder and pulled her tight against him. "What did he have to say?" he asked.
I just shook my head, wanting nothing more than to forget about the entire situation. "It doesn't matter. He's full of shit."
"Yeah he is," Emily said enthusiastically.
Ty just have me a weird look, one I couldn't decipher. "Well I should get you home. Danielle will be there, right?"
The sound of my nieces name instantly brought a smile to my face. "Yeah, let's go. See you later Em?"
She kissed Ty on the cheek and said her goodbyes before heading off towards her own car.
Porter jumped off the hood of the car and immediately went for the back seat "You okay?" I asked Ty, walking around to the other side of the car.
Before I could get in I felt a hand on my arm. When I turned around I was greeted by Sawyer's devilish smile. "I thought I missed you," he said.
"I see that. I wanted to know if you could hang out tonight. Maybe we could get some food? I'm hungry."
I glanced back at Ty's car, unsurprised to find two pairs of eyes trained on us. "I'd love to but Danielle's coming home today so I should probably get back."
The smile on Sawyer's face fell. "But if you wanted to come over that'd be cool too."
He shifted awkwardly on the balls of his feet. "Uh, would that be okay? I mean I wouldn't be intruding?"
"Sawyer you've climbed through my window before, when have you ever been scared of intruding?"
He rolled his eyes. "That was a completely different situation."
"I promise you won't be intruding, okay? Leah would love for you to be there."
"Okay, I'll stop by in a half hour or so."
Sawyer sauntered off towards his truck and I jumped in beside Ty, buckling up as he backed out of the parking spot. Once again, I noticed the strange expression he wore. "You okay?" I asked for the second time.
"I'm fine," he said with a shrug. "Just in a weird mood."
"I can tell."
He sighed. "Porter, you going home or to Danny's?"
"Home. Mom's got something planned for dinner."
Ty turned in the direction of Porter's neighborhood and reached for the radio to turn up the volume. "Are you coming over?" I asked him.
