Rated R... for romance obviously...

The candles were laid out, the rose petals led from the door in a romantic yet cliche way, and in the center of it all, the bed was made, covered in red satin sheets, and a person lay in the middle of it.

Wade looked at the clock on the bedside table. He wanted Peter to relax for a little while before he went on his midnight outings rescuing everyone because honestly, he deserved it.

The clock blinked 4:45 at him. Peter should be home in about fifteen to twenty minutes. Wade wanted everything to be perfect before he came home.

He glanced at the clock again, expecting it to have changed drastically since he last looked at it, but it didn't. The garish red numbers red 4:46.

Wade considered throwing out more rose petals, and maybe... maybe lighting some more candles, but he didn't want to set the house aflame. That would be a bad thing for Peter to come home to, but it's definitely something he'd do on accident.

He never was one to be good with idleness. He always had some task or other to keep him busy, but ever since he met Peter, he decided to stop fighting crime and just take care of his spider.

But now, when he had some actual time on his hands, he didn't really know what to do. Before he became "Deadpool" he was a mercenary. Then Francis kind of ruined his life, but at the same time, made it better in a weird way.

Wade glanced at the clock again. The time was slowly creeping by. 4:50, the lights blinked at him. He turned his gaze away to the candle flames flickering in his peripherals. The flames were dancing slowly, lazily, and that's how everything in his world was going. It was quite boring. The fan was turning in broad circles, just barely disturbing the petals that adorned the floor.

Wade heard a crash outside the window. He got up to see what the commotion was and looked to see a familiar bike parked haphazardly in the bike rack, chained clumsily to the metal.

Peter Parker was home at last.

He ran through a last minute check list. Everything seemed to be in order, at least, Wade hoped it was in order.

He hopped back onto the bed and one moment later he heard the signature sound of the lock tumblers clicking into place and keys jangling against the door.

Wade stayed where he was. It was supposed to be a surprise, but he knew a single movement would let Peter know he was there.

He heard Peter's footsteps creak on the wooden floor in front of their bedroom. Wade was really glad the lights were out. Maybe Peter though he was asleep. Hopefully. It'd be a better surprise.

The door creaked open and Wade had to resist a smile as the boy let out a quiet gasp when Peter saw the roses and candles and Wade himself lying on the middle of the bed.

"What's all this for?" Peter grinned, dropping his stuff by the closet to join Wade on the silky sheets.

"Oh, just a little something I thought you'd enjoy. Especially after a long day at work. Did.. did I do okay? I've never been one for romanticism.." Wade said shyly.

Peter kissed him lazily on the mouth. "You did wonderful my dear. I'm glad I came home to this. To you. I missed you."

Wade smiled against Peter's lips. "Mmhmm. I missed you too. Now, let's relax a little bit. At least before you have to go fighting crime later tonight okay?"

"What do you have in mind?" Peter asked, his eyes roaming over Wade's body.

Wade paused for a minute, running his tongue over Peter's bottom lip. "Hmm. I had a couple ideas, but that's not exactly 'relaxing'."
