Hey ladies! Silmarilz1701 here. I did the post about "Tomorrow Needs You!" Well I'm back again today.

Today, September 10, is World Suicide Prevention Day. This is one of my favorite days of the year because it gives us all even more of a reason to celebrate life and encourage each other. To start with, I'm going to show you a couple of the Tomorrow Needs Me posts I did on my social media this year:

I want you to take from this the fact that we are behind you. And I don't just mean SGC. We, the good people of this Earth, are pulling for you regardless of if you feel suicidal or not. Those of us who have gone through it... we know how excrutiatingly painful it is to even exist. We know how much you think leaving would better others' lives. Well I'm here to be your voice of reason. I'm here to say that THOSE ARE LIES. They are nasty lies being woven through your precious brains.

But I come with a weapon you can use in this fight. That weapon is knowledge. Use it as a sword and a shield when you battle those thoughts. First, some basic tips:

I love that list. I agree with everything on it. Most important is number one. It could save your precious life. Because you know what? No one can save you but you. And that's power, man. That's power.

A lot of times when we talk about suicide, we talk about lacking control in our lives. We feel helpless, like everything is falling down around us. And perhaps, we think, the only way to be in control is to end it.

I disagree.

Have you heard of Project Semicolon? Project Semicolon is a perfect example of how making the choice to keep living is actually just as much as control as dying, except you get to keep being in control in the future.

YOU get to choose to continue your life. That is YOUR choice, no one else. You may feel helpless, but just by staying alive every minute from now, that is your powerful decision to say "No. I choose to live."

You are the AUTHOR of your life. You, and no one else. Each minute is a word, each hour a sentence, each day a paragraph, each week a page, each year a chapter. Never forget that. You are the author.

You don't need to die to control your life.

You need to live.

Embrace the semicolon

Embrace the semicolon. You could've stopped your life, but you didn't. You carried on. Each of you reading this, you've carried on. You've controlled your life. You've written your chapters.

I've found incredible control by saying no to my suicidal intrusive thoughts. I made the decision to keep living, and now they're a part of me, but I carry on.

I hope, I know, you have the strength to take control by saying yes to life. Grab onto it and never let go. You're going to get bruised along the way. But trust me, it is worth it.

Life is beautiful.

Be the author, write your story.

Love,

Silz

P.S. Welcome to National Suicide Prevention Week. Let the outreach begin, and never stop. Let us change the world. Let us set the world ablaze with love for one another.
