Chapter 2

The next morning it was raining. My parents had already left. When I was done getting ready I put on my hood. I ignored it and walked down the street anyway. Then a car started to slow down next to me and I jumped out of the way in case it was some stupid jock trying to splash me.

"Hey stranger, need a ride?" Adam's voice asked me. "Sure, thanks." I said getting into the passenger seat of his car. "So what are you doing walking in the rain?" Adam asked. My face flushed.

I was kind of embarrassed that I had woken up late. "Uh my mom and dad had already left and I missed the bud that stops down the street." I admitted. He laughed as I knew he would.

"I guess you're lucky that I woke up late too or you would be late and wet." he said chuckling. "Yeah I guess." I agreed. We were finally there. "I'm sorry." he said parking in the parking lot.

"Why?" I asked confused. What did he do? "You know yesterday in the leaves..." He trailed off. If I had been certain, Adam was blushing. I started to blush a little bit too. "Why would you be sorry about that?" I asked.

Then he looked into my eyes. "Because I didn't have time to do this." he said. Then he kissed me gently. He kissed me softly and I soon started to kiss him back. When he pulled away, laughing I said, " Well, I guess you're forgiven."

Adam laughed with me. Then we said our goodbyes and I walked away. I made it to class right before the bell rang and I sat by my best friend Tammy. "We missed you yesterday after school. What did you do?" She asked.

"Well... I helped Adam rake his yard." I answered her. "And?" She wasked wanting more details. "That was it." I lied. "Ms. Montgomery, please be quiet." Mrs. James told me. And snce I was a good student I turned around and was quiet.

It was time for lunch. I followed Tammy to wherever we were sitting. It was just an everyday thing. When we sat down I didn't know anybody. I had seen them before but I have never met them.

"Lily, why are you so quiet?" One of the senior girls asked. What was her name again? Lauren, maybe? "She's just shy." Tammy answered for me. "Hey Montgomery! Come here!" Adam's dumb self yelled across the cafeteria.

"Ugh." I muttered to myself. "What does he want?" Tammy asked me. "How should I know, but I guess I should go and find out." I said getting up. I threw my tray away. "Why don't you come and sit with me and my friends." Adam suggested once I got there.

"Because you're dirty and jocky." I teased. He still pulled a chair out for me. I checked it out before I sat down. When I did I noticed 4 other boys around me. I sat there quietly, but hey we all did.

Nobody said a word. Adam just kind of sat there and stared at me with this goofy grin on his face. "Well this is different." I finally said. Adam laughed. "You think we're going to win tonight?" he asked me.

"Sure." I said not really knowing what to say. He laughed again. Then thank God I was saved by the bell.

The rest of the day went by fast. When the final bell rang I headed off to the gym. I had a book in one hand and my guitar in the other. The game started and I assured myself that I could watch the game and read some of my book at the same time(it was very good).

Adam easily got the ball and scored. I could tell that this was going to be an easy win. I read some more. And I was right. Everytime I looked at the score board we were winning. After a while when I looked at the score board again we only had three minutes until the game was over.

Then I realized that I really had to go to the bathroom. I walked out of the side gym door where there was a bathroom which had a line with about or 6 people waiting outside. Since I really had to go I quietly snuck down to the girls' lockerroom.

I started to go to the bathroom when I heard a bunch of noise. So I was guessing the game was over and we had won.
