"Hey, thanks again for letting me come over

"Hey, thanks again for letting me come over." Cody says, kicking my legs with his feet.

I shift on the couch and laugh, kicking him back. It was good to have Cody over, anyways. It helped me get my mind off of Peter.

"Can we talk?" He asked, sitting upwards.

I grab the remote and pause the movie that was currently playing. I sit up as well so that we are face to face. You'd think that I'd be used to being this close to Cody since we grew up together, but no. My heart always did that thing when he was around.

"Are you and Kavinsky a thing?"

So much for getting my mind off of Peter. I guess he would think that because of what he saw. I guess anybody would think that. Hell, I don't even know if we are a thing. I've been avoiding him and his calls all morning. I knew that he used me for a distraction and I didn't want to face that fact.

"No." I say, even though I don't know the answer.

He sighs, "That's good."

"And why is that?" I ask, sending him a smile.

He smiles but he is nervous, and he doesn't know what to do with himself. He's acting like that night he came over for dinner again. Maybe he will finally ask me that question he's been wanting to ask.

"Because he has a girlfriend." He stutters out.

Don't remind me, I think. I don't let that falter my smile, though. "Don't worry, Cody."

"Also," His cheeks get pink, "I wanted to ask you to the ski trip."

Was I hearing this right? Did Cody Rodriguez just ask me to the ski trip? As in the Cody Rodriguez whom I've been crushing on for years?

"Me? You want me to come with you?" I ask, still in shock. I swear, my life was suddenly turning upside down.

"That's what I said." He chuckles.

"Yes." I say, and I mean it.

He gives me a big grin and begins laughing, "Thank God."

I smile at him too. Then I begin to overthink. Does this mean we have to have sex? I've never had before. I guess it's about time I have it. But I don't have to, right? Is he only asking so we can have sex?

"I've actually liked you since the beginning of fresh–"

He gets cut off by the doorbell ringing. Fuck, I wanted to hear that. We both get up and walk towards the door. I guess he wants to know who interrupted his love confession. Or like confession, whatever. It's love to me.

I open the door a tiny bit and see Peter standing in front. He looks down into the crack at me. I quickly shut the door and turn towards Cody. "It's just the mail man."
