Rain poured down the windows of the house, Carlee sat on the end of the bed and just stared at the wall in front of her. In a few hours she'd be lying her father to rest. She's been trying to collect herself and mentally prepare. She wanted this day to go as smooth as possible. Her mother passed, she made a scene at her funeral. That was her best friend though and she was a lot younger. But she doesn't matter, losing a parent endures the same pain.

"Baby." Chris said.

"It's....3 in the morning. Why aren't you sleep? We got a long day ahead of us."

"I'm not tired."

He sighed then got up and sat next to her, holding onto her hand. "You're going to be okay Carlee."

"It doesn't feel like it. My mind feel like it's going to explode, I want a drink so bad, anything to just take me out of reality for a second."

"No you don't want that, trust me. You have me, the kids, we got you. I know when you lost your mom it was like you were alone but we're here. Lean on us."

Tears poured down Carlee's face. "I'm going to miss him. Both of my parents are gone and it hurts. I know he couldn't live for forever, I just wish I would've known that he was leaving me soon. I could've at least spent more time with him. This is just...a lot."

"I should've told you. I just thought that I was doing the right thing."

"I swear I would've just pretended like I didn't know."

"I'm sorry."

"Don't apologize, you did what he asked. I respect that."

Chris nodded. "I got something that might help you."

"I don't wanna have Sex baby." Carlee whined.

"First of all I wasn't talking about that and second even if I was I can't believe you turned it down."

She laughed. "I know, I'm just can't ride your dick with my dad on my mind this heavy.

Chris laughed while getting up and going to his suitcase. He pulled out an envelope and walked back to the bed. He pulled out two blunts, Carlee looked up at him a little unsure.

"Really?" He asked.

"Only thing in here is the best Cali weed. I put that on my kids, I would never give nothing like that you."

"You said it, I didn't." She snatched one of the blunts and a lighter.

"I guess my drug habits are always going to be topic of discussion."

"No Christopher."

"Feel like it." He took the blunt from her.

"Chris I know you won't give me a laced blunt, relax."

After that it got quiet and the just focused on the two blunts they had. Once they both were gone they headed downstairs to find something to eat. They settled on sandwiches and chips.
