I wake up to the annoying sound of my alarm going off. I get out of my warm, cozy bed and get ready for the first day of school. This school year I'm going into high school for the first time. My upperclassmen friends tell me I'm going to be okay. My brain doesn't listen to the advice and starts worrying about the stupidest things like being late to class or dropping my books and getting laughed at.

But most importantly all I'm thinking about him. I can't like him, he is a senior and my best friend older brother. When I'm done getting ready I look in the mirror and fix the collar of my lavender shade button up t-shirt. I walk over to my bag and think about all the funny thing he and I have done.

"Sweetie you're going to be late for the bus," my mum says from my doorway.

"I'll be fine mum I have 10 minutes till I have to worry."

"Okay. Hurry up though so we can take your first-day pictures out by the tree." She says with excitement as she goes and wakes up my dad.

I hurry up packing and finish just in time for a couple of pictures. I pose outside by the tree and then give my mum and dad a hug before heading to the bus. As I get on, I say hi to the old brittle bus driver. All he says in return is "yeah yeah get to your seat." With a colossal grunt afterward. I go to the middle of the bus and put my earbuds in and just sit down next to another girl with her headphones in. We pull into the parking lot of the school and wait in the loud and stinky bus till the bell rang. I get off the bus and see my friends Halie and Sarah. We run towards each other and talk the whole way in. We separate and go to our first class. That where I find him sitting. He yells and says for me to come over and give him a hug.

"Eva it's good to see you!" he says with a huge smile. "I missed you this last week. Where were you?"

"I was at the ortho. I know it a boring answer but that my life." I say with a smile, and it made him and I both laugh. The bell then rings, and the teacher tells us to sit down.

After class is done I grab my bags and go to orchestra. I play upright bass, and I love it. I give Miss Nioke and a huge hug. She is my favorite teacher ever! Nothing else really exciting happens for the rest of the day. After my last class, I sprint to my bus and put on earbuds. While waiting for the buses to get ready, I get a tap on the shoulder. I turn around to Luke looking right at me.
