"Even the darkest night will end and the sun will rise,"
Les Miserables, Victor Hugo
"Hey, has she woken up yet?" Logan walks into the room about 8pm that night, Jonah is still here, even though I've told him multiple times he can go home, he refuses.
"No, she stirred a bit earlier, but the nurses say she's heavily drugged up on pain medication." I explain, yawning and struggling to keep my eyes open.
"Okay, you go home, I'll stay here tonight." Logan instructs, looking at me firmly.
"No, I'm staying too." I refuse, staring him in the eyes.
"Have you even eaten at all today? You need to go home and get a good nights sleep, Julia and Chase have already promised someone will bring you back in the morning, she'll be awake then, okay?" He looks at me, taking in my tired but stubborn eyes he turns to Jonah and hands him a key, "this is a key to the house, can you get her home and make her get some sleep?"
"Logan!" I exclaim, I don't need him ordering my friends to look after me!
"Yeah, sure." Jonah agrees, taking the key from Logan.
"Jonah!" I exclaim once again.
"Listen, I'll bring you back myself in the morning if you want, but you need to go home and get some sleep, and some proper food." Jonah turns to me, looking deep into my eyes and I can feel myself giving in, I look over to Logan who is giving me the same insistent look.
"Okay, fine, but I'm coming back first thing tomorrow." I make sure my intentions are clear to both of them.
"I wouldn't expect any less." Logan walks over and gives me a hug, placing a gentle kiss on the top of my head. "Get some sleep, I'll see you in the morning, I'll call you if anything happens. Love you." He promises. I nod against his chest, feeling safe in the protective arms of my older brother.
"See you in the morning, love you too." I whisper as I follow Jonah out of the hospital room back to the elevator.
I shiver at the cold air when we step outside the hospital.
"Here, put this on," Jonah helps me slip my arms into his tan leather jacket, it's too big, the sleeves are too long and it hangs off me, but its warm and smells glorious, like mint and axe, so I zip it up as he puts on the second jacked, the black one.
"Thanks, I forget how cold it gets here at night, the temperature doesn't drop so much in the towns." I smile up at him, to see him already smiling down at me.
"I've always loved the drop in temperature at night, I find it refreshing." He replies as we walk towards his car, the car park is much more empty than it was earlier in the day.
"Yeah, I'm gonna have to disagree with you on that." I tell him, my teeth chattering, despite the jacket.
"C'mon, let's get to the car and get the heat on then." He grabs hold of my hand, pulling me into a jog towards the car, he unlocks it was we get close. He opens my door for me, my hand still in his, as we get to the silver corsa before running round the front and getting in the drivers side, starting the car and turning the heat up full.
As we drive along I feel myself start to warm up and become sleepy, I lean my head against the window allowing myself to close my eyes.

I begin to stir from my slumber when I feel cold air hit my body, before I feel someone's arms slide under me, lifting me, I start to open my eyes in panic but relax when I smell the familiar scent of mint and axe, allowing Jonah to carry me. Suddenly I hear a loud banging and start to stir. "Shh, I'm just knocking to get Dad to open the door, go back to sleep," he reassures me, and, in my sleepy haze I comply with his request.
