Opening the first shelf as fast as possible, I looked inside but failed to find the first aid box.
Where the hell did I keep it?
I couldn't even believe searching for a white freaking box would be so hard in such kind of situation. Finally, I took out the first aid kit from the upper shelf of the cabinet and rushed towards him.
"I'm not really good in doing this. Why can't we go to the doctor? I'll probably injure you more." I said worriedly.
That was right. I seriously didn't trust myself in such situations.
"Not the doctor. We can't go there." He said as his eyebrows furrowed together.
I didn't know why he wasn't showing it. He was most definitely in pain. The gash said so.
I sighed and nodded.
He inhaled and slowly took his shirt off in one move. I wasn't expecting that. But I guess, you have to take off your shirt if you've got to clean the wound.
I looked at the wound on his arm which was just a bit below his shoulder. And let me tell you one thing, it was bad. So bad that it almost made me call the doctor.
But I didn't.
"It'll hurt, alright?"
He just nodded. I took the cotton, dipped it slightly in the antiseptic and slowly touched the starting of the wound. I swear, I could see my hand almost shaking.
You can do it, Sky.
"I c-can't!" I said pulling my hand away.
I looked like the biggest coward right now. I didn't even know why I was scared. Maybe because I thought I would mess it up.
Caden gave me a strange look.
"Never mind. I'll try again." I frowned and inhaled a deep, encouraging breath.
He didn't say anything at all. All he did was slightly hiss at the start. Then he kept silent the whole way. If I were in his place, I would've been bawling my eyes out.
When I was all done, I took the large, white bandage and wrapped it slowly around his arm. He was already staring at me when I looked back at him. Finally, I blew out the breath I had been holding for so long.
"Does it feel better?" I asked.
He leaned his head back at the couch and nodded.
"What was...all that, Caden?" I asked slowly.
He was hurt really bad. Not only the wound on his arm but also the bruises around his stomach. I couldn't believe somebody would ever do such kind of thing. More like his own brother.
"I seriously have no energy to tell you that." He muttered.
He looked like he would do anyything to get some sleep. I didn't push him.
"You can stay here. You're not even in the state of standing up." I murmured before picking up the cotton and the kit. Placing it back in the shelf, I looked at him.
He didn't say anything. I took that as a yes. I mean, I knew how I shouldn't be doing this but he was hurt. What kind of person would I be if I just tell him to leave?
I couldn't possibly do that.
I went inside my parent's room and picked out a shirt and trouser from my dad's closet.
"You can take a shower upstairs, if you want, and here are the clothes." He stood up slowly as I handed him the clothes. And then he disappeared upstairs leaving me all alone.
After about half an hour sitting here on the couch, I finally gave up. I had been thinking for a while about all of this.
Was the blond boy really his brother? I couldn't ask him if he didn't want to tell me. At least, not now.
I wish I knew something. I hated when I didn't know anything. After all, I was dealing with this too.
I stood up and headed upstairs to check up on him.
Opening my bedroom door, I saw him laid down on my bed on his back with his eyes closed. His hair was damp, clinging onto his forehead. And he wasn't wearing a shirt.
Under different circumstances, I would've been actually drooling over his body. But things were different. After all, I was not like those girls who were crazy for him.
I picked up the comforter and slid it over him, turning off the lights. Walking out, I closed the door behind me and blew out a long sigh.
Sooner or later, he will have to tell me.
