Chapter 3
Lizzie’s POV
I spent the rest of my afternoon with Aiden at the park. For a new guy, he was okay. Most new guys who looked like him were usually throwing themselves at all the girls they meet but he actually offered to stay with me instead. I mean, it’s not like he actually looked like all the other guys, it’s just that he was physically comparable to the other guys like the athletes. Personality wise though, I don’t really know. It’s too early to know whether it was all just an act or if it was the real him. Whatever, it doesn’t matter anyway. But I have to say, he made all the others look like back up dancers on a concert while he was the main artist.
He looked like some kind of Greek god. I couldn’t exactly describe him as completely chiseled out but he had this kind of edge to him that made him look so… hot. Uh-oh, inappropriate word. But he was. And yet he made the gray v-neck tee that snug him perfectly look like he was the only one who could ever wear it this good, and those jeans. I never thought I’d ever see someone look good with simple jeans. Wait, I why am I fussing over him? I shouldn’t be.
So anyway, Jay got real mad at me for not telling him right away that I saw Matt doing what the hell he was doing down the halls, saying that he could have come to my school and ‘taught that kid some lesson he would never forget in his life’. But I told him that I was fine and that a new friend was with me which made things feel better. Indeed Aiden made things better. Jay was just acting all protective because well, he was my big brother. He just worried too much like a girl does so often.
After dinner, I went straight up to my room, making homework as an excuse. I sat on my bed and turned on my laptop. I needed music badly and not through earphones, I’d rather have it on loud speaker this time.
I can’t help but think of Aiden though and how kind he was to me. I shouldn’t though. I should stop this.
********
The next morning, I was once again bombarded with questions by my friends, regarding my whereabouts yesterday afternoon. I knew they were worried. It wasn’t like me at all to just ditch school. I told them that I wouldn’t be running off anywhere today and that I really didn’t want to talk about it. They weren’t going to let me slip by just like that though, I knew they were gonna bug me until I gave in.
During lunch break, me and Avy walked together towards the cafeteria. “Okay, spill, why did you run off again yesterday? And don’t give me that ‘I don’t want to talk about it’ bullshit Lizzie, I know you better that you think”. Well, she had a point.
“I was taking some books I needed for the afternoon, then I saw Matty, with Sophie pushing up on him. I just felt sick so I ran away, again.” I said softly.
“That jerk was with that bitch?!”
“Keep it down, A. It’s not a big deal anymore.”
“You’re right. That’s right. Stop worrying about him okay? There’s a lot of other guy out there, and besides, you were too good for him. He doesn’t deserve someone great like you.” She said smiling sincerely at me.
“Thanks”
“So, where’d you run off to anyways?”
“Oh, I went to the park, with someone”
“Oooh someone huh? What’s that someone's name then?” She said as we were nearing our usual table at the cafeteria.
“Aiden. His name is Aiden Ford. He’s new here.”
“Okay, so what does this Aiden look like?” Here she goes. Always looking for cute guys when she can.
“Hey, Lizzie!” A male voice said, causing me to jerk my head up at its direction. He was sitting with Mase and the others.
“Well, that’s him.” I whispered to Avery as we walked closer to the table.
“You think I could get me one of those if I ditched school this afternoon?” She asked, making my swat her arm.
“Ow, that hurt! I was just kidding Liz” She said as she rubbed her arm.
“So you guys know each other?” Luke asked.
“Sort of, I met him yesterday.”
“Oh, cool, then we don’t need to introduce you” Mase said with a smirk beore adding “Hey Aiden, this is Avery”
“Nice to meet you Aiden” Ooops she had her best smile on as she reached out her had to Aiden.
“You too” He replied, shaking her hand.
“OKAY! Can we eat first before Avy here starts with her eye fluttering again” Joe says, making all of us laugh, and earning him a smack on the arm.
“No need for violence guys” I said as I continued giggling.
“Says the first one to give out a smack on the arm today” replies Avy.
We were all supposed to simply eat quietly, but as the usual, our group was one of those who contributed to the unending noise in the cafeteria. It was nice to see that everyone in our little group was warmly welcoming Aiden. We don’t usually let people hang out with us, mostly because they end up being jerks, but I knew Mase and the others had good judgment with character.
“Hey” Aiden finally said. I was starting to think that he hasn’t noticed me at all regardless of the fact that I was sitting right across him.
“Hey yourself” I said as I gave him a smile which earned me a smile from him. Thank God I didn’t swoon. He had perfect teeth! This guy wasn’t fair.
“You feeling better today?”
“Yup” I said as I emphasized on the p.
“Oh, I was kinda hoping we could ditch class and hang out at the park again” he said as he leaned forward with a smirk on his face.
“Well, Mr. class-ditcher, I don’t really want to ditch this afternoon”
“Not like she needs to catch up, she’s way ahead of everyone in class” Avy interjects. I wanted to kick her right now, but I guess that’ll have to wait.
“But don’t worry, she’s just saying that so you wouldn’t have to skip the afternoon on your second day at school” Luke adds with a wink.
“Really you guys? We were talking” I said, trying my hardest to sound annoyed.
“Okaaay, we’ll let you two talk now LIZ” Joe says as Mase makes this silly face making all of us laugh once again.
“What’s your next class?” Aiden asks as he digs for something in his backpack.
“AP History” I said as I sipped my coke.
“Oh cool, I have that one next too” He says as he examines a piece of pare he’s holding. It must be his schedule. “Does anyone else have AP History next?”
“No, we all have calculus next. Liz was the only one that got separated from us” Mase says.
“Oh okay, well, we should be going now, right?” Aiden says as he looks at me
“Yeah sure” I said as I grabbed my bag. The others seemed to be doing the same thing to so once we were ready we all headed out of the cafeteria and went to our rooms. Of course, I was with Aiden. We were silent for a while, then he spoke up.
“Your friends are great”
“Well, they’re your friends now, too you know?” I said as I looked up at him. Gosh he was tall, like tall tall. I think he might be 6 feet or something. It made my neck hurt a bit.
“Yeah, well I'm glad I’ve met you and the others” He replied, looking at me, again with that smile.
*********
Hey guys! Sorry for this short chapter, I've just been, kinda pre-occupied lately. Mentally pre-occupied, and it’s depressing as hell. And most importantly, I don’t really want to write a depressing chapter when it isn’t supposed to be, but anyway, I hope you guys like it I’ll try to update again soon :)
Don’t forget to vote and comment! :) Let me know what you think :)
