"Are you blind?" He looked down at his shirt, his efforts to stop the cold liquid from coming in contact with his skin were futile.

"Don't yell at me! You are obviously the blind one!"

Nnamdi looked at her and frowned, standing behind her was someone he didn't want to see. At least not this night.

Nnamdi took a deep breath and bit the inside of his cheek trying to calm himself. He looked at Ada and said something that he wouldn't have said  not in a million years. "I'm sorry. I didn't see you there."

Ada smiled triumphantly. "That's nice. I'm glad you know you're the one at fault." Nnamdi glared at her but she didn't seem to notice as she was waving to a waiter to order another drink. He looked at Kemi standing innocently behind Ada and saw a small smile flicker across her face. That was enough for him.

"So are you enjoying the party?" Ada asked sipping her red wine.

Nnamdi frowned strongly wishing to be anywhere but here. The only words he has said to Adaeze in his life time was ’I'll give you a feedback’ that was before now during a meeting. Now here she was conversing as if they were long time friends. He pinched the bridge of his nose and closed his eyes for a brief moment, opening them he saw Kemi staring at him quizzically.

"I was just leaving," he replied flatly.

"Why?" Kemi asked. She had not said anything since Adaeze purposely spilled her cold drink on Nnamdi. Adaeze had stormed off after ranting for almost thirty minutes in the bathroom about Kemi's 'deception' as she called it. She had also filled her with scanty details of what she and Luke had discussed. Kemi could swear on a chocolate that she had seen Ada laughing with him but she wasn't one to swear.

Kemi had been surprised at first at the childish stunt Adaeze had pulled to get Nnamdi's attention, but later on she had been pleased. Maybe, just maybe she would get him alone and tell him how she felt about him.
It was risky but there was no harm in trying right? What's the worst that can happen? She thought trying to be optimistic.

"Well don't leave," Ada said dragging Kemi out of her thoughts. Apparently Nnamdi had been telling Ada the reason he badly wanted to get away from this party. "I know it's a little bit crowded..."

"A little?" Nnamdi interrupted rudely raising his eyebrow a little. Kemi thought it cute, hell even if he sneezed he would still look cute.

Ada ignored him. "Stay," she said as if she were talking to a stubborn five year old. "Kemi will make it worth your time," she added pushing her friend forward a little.

"Wait! What? I... I don't know," Kemi said looking anywhere but at Nnamdi, she finally looked up to meet his gaze—his expression was unreadable.

"I don't see why not? Do you?" Ada asked facing Nnamdi squarely.

"No. No I don't see why not," he repeated and smiled at Kemi immediately regretting saying those words.

Ada left them on a black leather couch after assigning a waitress to take their orders and whispering the words 'be nice' to Kemi. She even promised to take a picture of the both of them.
