"Relax," Frank patted your shoulder as you stood next to him.
At present moment, you were with Michael Jackson's manager - waiting to meet the man himself. You had applied for the job position of a nanny for Michael's three children - and by the graces of the gods, you had gotten the job.
Frank had only just met you, and you already felt at ease with him. You had seen several maids around, and they seemed incredibly polite as well.
You couldn't wait to work for Michael - it was a dream come true.
"Thanks," you smiled at Frank. "I'm just a very anxious person by nature. I hope I don't screw up,"
"You won't," he chuckled. "I have a good feeling about you,"
Frank and yourself were currently waiting in the living room of Michael's Neverland mansion, and you had to admit - everything was a whole lot more beautiful than you had imagined.
Suddenly, you heard the pitter patter of little feet - and a moment passed before three little angels ran out into the living room. Following closely behind them, was a tall man that you instantly recognized to be Michael himself.
"Hi!" the little girl smiled up at you. "I'm Paris!"
"And I'm Prince!" the, apparently, eldest boy grinned. "And this is Blanket," he gestured to the smallest boy of the lot.
You smiled and waved at them.
"You all have lovely names," you smiled. "I'm (Y/N),"
"(Y/N)?" Paris tilted her head to the side. "That's a pretty name,"
You laughed and blushed a little. "Thank you," you tucked a strand of loose hair behind your hair.
"Michael, this is (Y/N)," Frank spoke from beside me. "(Y/N)," he looked at you. "Of course, you know Michael,"
Michael walked up to you and held his hand out for you to shake. You took it, and instantly felt a strange sensation take you over from your head to your toes. You quickly shook it off and smiled.
"It's nice to meet you, (Y/N)," his eyes lingered on you.
"The pleasure is all mine," you nodded.
"Well, I'd better be off," Frank waved. "I've got places to be," he chuckled before bidding the children goodbye, and walking out.
"So...what's the plan for today?" you questioned softly as Michael looked at you. "If I may ask..."
"We're going to watch cartoons today!" Paris smiled. "And then we'll go toy shopping,"
"Sounds like fun," you grinned.
Several hours had passed since you all had settled down for cartoons. Paris, Prince, and Blanket had all fallen asleep on the sofa - and since you were on the floor with Michael, you hadn't noticed that the angels had dozed off until you turned back to see how they were doing.
A smile formed on your face when you saw how peaceful the children looked. A few moments passed before you noticed that Michael was looking at you.
A blush rose to your cheeks as you cleared your throat.
"Sorry," you mumbled.
"What for?" he chuckled.
"N-Nothing," you stuttered.
"(Y/N), you're awfully nervous around me," he leaned closer toward you, making your heart skip a beat. "If I didn't know better, I'd have thought that you had a crush on me," he whispered before pulling away and chuckling again.
You sat there, wide eyed as he stood up - walking off into the kitchen.
Was he right?
Oh no, I can't have a crush on him! I just can't! Come on, (Y/N)! You barely know the guy!
Later on in the afternoon, you all had made your way to the zoo, just as Paris had mentioned earlier. Michael had been behaving as if the aforementioned encounter had ever happened. But then again, it could've always just been in your imagination.
At the zoo, the press had grouped up - and in no time, everyone was taking pictures. You saw Michael's hurt despite the fact that he had a stoic expression painted on his face.
Bill, one of the bodyguards, took the children away - presumably back to the car. Eventually, you had found yourself separated from Michael and the kids.
Your eyes began to tear up as you looked around frantically. People were asking you questions, and taking photos before a hand pulled your right arm.
You looked up and saw Michael.
"Come on," he spoke firmly before pulling you along with him.
He led you all the way back to the car, and the both of you got in quickly - shutting the door behind you. By that point, people had begun falling over each other - that was how much of an effect that Michael had on the world.
Everyone flocked, just to get a glimpse of him.
"Thank you," you smiled a little at Michael, but he looked away - not saying anything. When you saw his expression, your heart sank a little.
Maybe he's disappointed in me. Damn it, (Y/N) - why you always gotta screw things up?
When the car finally pulled to a stop at Neverland, everyone got out. As you began to walk, you felt someone tug at your arm.
You turned around and saw Michael.
"Can you take the kids inside?" he looked at Bill. Bill nodded before Michael turned his attention to you. "Walk with me,"
You did so, walking alongside him. He had his hands behind his back as he looked at the ground.
"I'm sorry," you breathed. "About today, I-"
He held his hand up, telling you to stop.
"It's not your fault," he said as the two of you walked. "I was just...so upset. I never wanted this to happen to you. But every person that's associated with me, gets that sort of treatment from the press," he shook his head. "It's horrible,"
"Oh, no," you shook your head. "It didn't bother me...I was just...overwhelmed," you laughed a bit.
Michael stopped, and so did you. He looked into your eyes, studying you. "You're a very interesting girl, (Y/N)," he smiled a little, bringing his hand to tuck a strand of your hair behind your ear. "There's something about you that appeals to me - but I don't know what," he smiled a little before bringing his hands to rest behind his back again.
You looked at him, unable to answer. A moment of silence persisted before he chuckled and turned to walk away - leaving you dumbfounded.
