Kaycee broke up with Gabe, and I didn't know how to feel about it. When we finished the dance I was so happy, but I had to leave because I was feeling sick. As I leaned against a wall, I had begun to feel pain in my abdomen. And when I looked down, I was bleeding.
I left because I didn't want Kaycee to worry about me. She shouldn't have to, but I know she will.
"Sean? Are you okay?" I heard a voice call behind me. It was Gabe. "Dude ...you're bleeding!" He looked at me concerned and walked over.
"I'm fine..Gabe really.." I smiled, hoping to pull it off. But, I was beginning to lose my balance. Gabe caught me as I fell forward.
"Will! Will." Gabe yelled terrified and I heard a stampede running. I had felt Will's arm wrap around me as he checked my pulse.
"We have to get him to the hospital, he's already lost blood." Will said as he ran and grabbed his bag.
"C'mon Sean, stay with me." Janelle said, her voice shaking with worry. "Not now, okay? We still have a long way." She whispered to me. Will had picked my limp body up, jogging to his car, and putting me into the backseat with Janelle.
I was glad to know that Kaycee wasn't there to find me, she had already left, as I was informed by Janelle.
I spent my days in the hospital, without Kaycee knowing where I was. I had lied to her, and I told her I was on vacation, and I was in an coma for a week, but that turned into 5 years of my life.
I had woken up on August 26, 2023. And my parents were happy to know I was alive. My whole family was having a sob fest. I didn't know how to handle that, but they died down soon after.
"Mom?" I had asked, my voice low, which scared me the most. "Where's Kaycee?"
"Kaycee...?" My mom had looked at me, like she realized something. "You've been gone for a few years-."
"How long, mom?" I had asked, my body trembling from fear. "How long mom?" I asked, beginning to feel anger inside of me.
"Five years, Sean..." she whispered and I had looked down at my hands and sobbed. My mother hugged me gently and sighed. " Kaycee thought you had run away.. she still doesn't know where you are, Sean. You're gonna have to find her." My mom had told me, and I nodded slowly as I laid back down.
My mother left the room, leaving me by myself to think.
I had been gone for five years....How could I even tell Kaycee that I was in a coma for a whole five years of my life. She probably won't even remember who I was if she saw me. How could I tell anyone..
A week later..
My mom had drove me and my family home, and I decided that it was time that I should find where Kaycee could be. Hopefully tell her that I was in a coma and we'll be alright.
As I drove around, I had seen an old studio. It was Will's studio, so I drove up there and walked right in.
"Hi, is Will doing a class today?" I had asked the lady at the counter. She had smiled and checked for me.
"He is here, he should be down on the left. Also, you look very familiar?" The girl with the brown hair observed me.
"Oh- we'll, I'm Sean..so yeah." I smiled and shoved my hands into my pockets.
"Sean?! Holy shit...! It's me Jade." She walked around the counter and hugged me. "Where the hell have you been? Everyone was worried and you just disappeared." She looked up at me and laughed.
"It's a really long story, Jade...I have to go find Will... I will tell you all about it later, okay?"
"Alright, it's good seeing you." She smiled and I waved goodbye as I jogged away.
I walked toward the booming music, knowing that I was close by. I had begun to feel my heart beating faster, and faster as I got close by.
I walked into the class, watching the students that I was once. The music stopped and everyone had gone to their water break and I walked straight to Will.
"Will?..." I had mumbled.
"Yes-." Will had turned and made eye contact with me, his eyes becoming filled with tears, I walked up to him, wrapping my arms around him tightly, as he sobbed.
"I'm okay Will." I smiled and he laughed it off, wiping his tears as he crouched. "Is Kaycee here..by any chance.?" I asked and he nodded and pointed.
"I knew you were gonna ask that."
I looked over to where he was pointing. The girl that looked beautiful just as I remember, only a little more grown up. She was tall, her hair still curly, and her smile was a little brighter. I walked over slowly, feeling nervous of the outcome.
The girl looked over to me, and my heart begun to beat out of my chest.
"Sean...?" She asked and put her water down slowly.
I had smiled and nodded, feeling the tears crawl from my eyes as she ran up and hugged me tightly. I held her head in my arms as she cried silently.
