I wanted to write a different one today.
You're a siren, always luring sailors to their demise. Only when you meet him, that's not what you wanted to do anymore.
You see him sitting in the sand by himself. He's easy prey. All you have to do is sing your song and then kill him. That's it.
Only as you move closer to him, you notice how beautiful he is. He's not human. You've never encountered a fae before, but you're almost certain he is one. His hair is purple, first of all. His features are sharp yet soft at the same time. He's beautiful, to say the least.
You feel like you don't want to kill this one. You could never. He's not human, first of all. But to add to that, he's so beautiful that you couldn't bring yourself to harm him.
"Hey," he suddenly says, and you realize he's seen you. You duck underwater quickly, but you're intrigued. You come to the surface once more, and this time, he's standing by the water. He's wearing all white, but his aura is clearly purple. It's almost a blend of blue and purple, making you think of cotton candy.
"Hey," he calls again, and you duck underwater to swim closer. You pop up close to the shore, and he sees you. "What's your name?" he asks.
"Calypso," you tell him, and he grins slightly.
"I'm Awsten with a 'w'. The 'w' is important," he informs you seriously.
"You a fae?" you ask, and he nods.
"Siren?" he questions, and this time it's your turn to nod. "Why am I still alive?"
"I only kill humans," you reply simply, and he smiles slightly.
"You have a mate?" he asks, and you raise an eyebrow.
"What's it to you, fae?"
"Seems like a pretty mermaid like you should have a mate by now," he says, making you bristle.
"I'm not a fucking mermaid," you snap, and he giggles slightly, amused at your annoyance.
"Could have fooled me."
"What the fuck do you want?" you ask, feeling like this was a mistake.
"I think the better question is, what do you want?" he counters, and you narrow your eyes at him.
"Why do you think I want something?"
"You were the one watching me," he points out, making you groan internally.
"I thought you looked like a fairy's ass," you retort, but he just laughs. He doesn't even care.
"And I thought you looked like a giddy mermaid," he replies, and you gasp.
"I'm not a mermaid," you repeat, and he just raises an eyebrow and smirks.
"You don't want me to. Not really," you say, swimming even closer. You reach the shore and slide onto the sand beside him. He sits down so you can see eye-to-eye.
He's even more beautiful up close, and you hate it. His eyes scan your body from your eyes to your tail.
"I've never been this close to one of you," he says softly, almost entranced.
"One of us meaning?"
"Sirens," he replies, and you nod approvingly. You aren't about to let him get away with that "mermaid" shit.
"I've never seen a fae up close either," you tell him, and he gives you a mischievous look.
"Bet you've never slept with one either."
