"I know you like him but... are you sure you're not mistaking that for you really love him?"
My heart skipped a beat and blood immediately rushed up to my cheeks. Love? I have never really loved someone before besides my family and friends. I've known Jaxon for a short amount of time, it was impossible to love someone like that.
"I-I don't think I love him," I mumbled, playing with the zipper on my sweater.
Caleb raised an eyebrow. "You look at him like you look at pancakes."
"...nevermind. You're acting slow."
"No! Explain to me!" I hit his arm but, he ignored me.
Wow. What a great friend.
A firm knock was on my window and I jumped back. Jaxon was standing there with a smile on his face. I got out of the car, not helping the smile on my face. "Hey, Captain Douche."
"Hello, Kitten." He kissed my forehead before placing a Wendy's bag in my hands. "I thought you would've been hungry so I got you food."
"Aren't you the perfect boyfriend?" I pinched his cheek and he pushed my hand away from his face before rubbing where I pinched him. "You're going to stretch my flawless face."
"That's what you think," I mumbled. He snatched my food away from my hands. "That's it. I'm eating this."
"No! I'm sorry, I take it back!"
"Mhm, that's what I thought." He gave me back my food and I thanked him. He smiled before walking around to Caleb's side of the car and they talked in hush tones. Well, great. They are still keeping things from me.
Jaxon came back and I raised an eyebrow. "What was that about?"
"I'm going to ride with Tyler. We have something to do before we go to this trip."
"And what exactly is that?" I asked bitterly. He didn't seem surprised by my attitude. He didn't answer and I opened my mouth.
Oh. That's why he didn't say anything. Of course he didn't want anyone else eavesdropping on our conversation.
I sighed, facing to Maddy. I could see nothing but, hatred in her eyes. Then I remembered her outrage when Jaxon chose me over her.
I'm still debating if she's crazy or not.
"Did you need something?" I asked in a bland tone.
She smiled. "Not from you." She brushed past me and I wanted to jump at her but, I couldn't risk another suspension for another bitch who wanted to try me. Maddy glued herself to Jaxon and fluttered her eyelashes. "We need to talk, Jaxy-Poo. Okay?"
Jaxon's face morphed in confusion, removing himself from her. "Don't ever call me that again and about what?"
She glanced at me and smirked menacingly. Without a word, she strutted away. "She really is getting on my nerves," I mumbled under my breath.
Jaxon coughed awkwardly. "So... I'm going to go."
"You didn't explain why you were-"
He hugged me, cutting me off and whispered in my ear. "Axel wants to meet up with us. Don't worry, I'll be at the forest before you."
I sighed, hugging him back. "You better be. Just please be careful."
"Aren't I always?"
I rolled my eyes, pulling away. "You have a smart ass mouth so no."
