FAQ's:
What are the sexualities/genders of the characters?
Gabbie is a bisexual girl, Leslie is a gay (trans) girl, Maria is a straight girl and Kane is a straight guy.

Why are all your characters so flawed?
Nothing is black and white. The gang aren't necessarily bad but they aren't completely good. They're teenagers who make mistakes and hurt each other but they can grow from that and become better people. Their flaws are a great part of who they are.

Will the story be continued further?
No. This is a short story and I don't plan on revisiting it (unless it becomes highly requested or something).

Where did you get the character names from?
I named all the characters after singers. I was having trouble with names so I went to one of my Spotify playlists to find some names I liked.
Maria is named after Maria Mena, Gabbie is named after Gabbie Hanna, Kane is named after Kane Strang and Leslie is named after Leslie Odom Jr..

Where did the idea for this story come from?
Recently I got a boyfriend (woo) and my relationship with him made me think a lot about relationships in general. While thinking about relationships, the thought of betrayal came up and I realised I wanted to write a scene where someone who had been betrayed confronted the person who hurt them. The rest of the story was built around that.

How long did Perspective take to write?
One day. It was one of those projects where I just dove in with no plan and just characters and situations. I find that writing short stories like this is a good way to ease back into writing when you haven't picked up a pen in a while.

Was there anything that was hard to write?
I didn't find any of it hard to write because I was so in the moment the entire time I was writing Perspective, but I found it hard to go back and edit Kane's chapter. It was just because of all the emotions and conflict that went on, I suppose. It's hard for me to reread.

How did you decide the music for each chapter?
I picked all the songs to sort of be like character anthems. The themes all play into who the characters are and what they're going through.
Also, I chose Bella's Lullaby for this part because I find the song beautiful (despite not liking the Twilight films).
