Lucia was able to catch up with Cole rather quickly. She thought the steel girl holding onto her would at least make it more difficult to concentrate, but Lara held onto her just enough to keep her on the disk.
"Cole," Lara called, once they neared him. He didn't respond.
"Cole." she called, louder. Again, no response. She cleared her throat.
"COLE!" She yelled.
"What do you want," he called back, not even attempting to hide the annoyance in his voice. Lara decided it would be best to ignore his attitude.
"DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHERE WE ARE GOING?"
"You can stop yelling, I can hear you."
She wanted to throw something at her, but breathed deeply for a moment and calmed down.
"Do you have any idea where we are going?" she repeated.
"We're following the rocket's path. It was clearly targeting us. I'm going to find out why." He then sped forward, leaving a trail of fire.
"Can you go any faster?" Lara asked Lucia.
"Just hold on," she responded, before willing the the disk to chase after Cole. Lara nearly flew off, but wrapped her arms around Lucia and held herself up. Lucia was glad Leo wasn't there. He would have made a joke, when she was too busy to punish him for it.
Cole sped through the Paris skyline, following the path of the rocket.
"This must have been guided," he said to himself. He could see the pathway of the rocket. The trail was steadily leading downward. He was going to find his target soon. He blasted fire from his hands to propel him forward and closer to his target. He soon arrived on a rooftop and levitated above it, scanning for the trail. Allowing himself to fall to the ground, he walked to where the path ended. He began thinking out loud.
"The rocket must have been fired from a XHP2P." He then spotted a door. He ran over to it and attempted to open it, but it was locked. He was about to burn a hole through it, when it suddenly fell open. He turned around to see Kira with her hand extended, standing next to Riku. He paused for a moment, before remembering that the girl possessed lock manipulation. He didn't know or care how she got there. He then saw Lara land on the building, leaving a large dent in the roof where she landed. Lucia levitated down next to the girl with her disk, before causing it to evaporate into the night. Lara took a step forward, but stopped dead in her tracks.
"How did you two get here?" she asked, pointing to the Riku and Kira.
"What are we even doing here?" Riku asked, ignoring the question.
"We're going to execute whoever fired that rocket," Cole answered. "Then, we'll do whatever we get asked to." he then entered the building. Lara followed him, and Lucia followed her. Riku looked to Kira.
"You'd better get your friend ready." He said. "It looks like more blood will be spilt tonight."
As soon as he entered the building, he found himself running down a flight of stairs and ended up in the middle of an empty, metal white hallway. He looked both directions. He tried to sense where the launcher went, but couldn't see it. Lucia and Lara arrived down the stairs and looked down each side of the hallway. Before they could say anything, Cole sped down the right side of the hall.
"Cole, wait," Lara called as she stepped towards him, but Lucia stopped her.
"Let him go," she said. "Lets go this way. We'll have a better chance of finding the guy if we split up. If his file is correct, he can handle himself."
