Stunned silence filled the room. For the apparent engagement between Perci and Thor. Tony had to leave, 'cause just...wow. Bruce, thankfully, directed the attention elsewhere, "He really grows on ya, doesn't he?"
Steve's mouth twitched, then swivelled around to look at the present God, "Loki's gonna drag this out. So, Thor, what's his play?"
Thor folded one arm over his chest and rested his other elbow on it, "He has an army called the Chitauri."
Perci, looking down into her lap, and mumbled under her breath, "So that's what they're called."
The God frowned slightly at her, being the only one to hear her. But he continued, "They are not of Asgard or of any world known. He means to lead them against your people. They will win him the earth. In return, I suspect, for the Tesseract."
Steve paled slightly, but very seriously asked, "An army? From outer space?"
The demigoddess gave him a 'duh' look.
Bruce spoke up once again, "So he's building another portal. That's what he needs Erik Selvig for."
Perci looked upset, a small panicked expression, "Selvig?"
"He's an astrophysicist."
She nodded, "He's family."
A son of Hephaestus to be exact. Gods just don't know how to keep it in their pants.
The redhead assassin breathed deeply from the corner of the room, looking at Perci with sympathy, "Loki has him under some kind of spell, along with one of ours."
Anger, instead of sadness, took hold of the demigoddess and as she closed her eyes, everyone heard the water pipes beginning to rattle dangerously, startling them.
Thor whispered, reaching a hand across the table to grasp hers, "Persephone."
Her bright sea green eyes swirled with barely restrained power and looking across the table at him, staring into his blue orbs, calmed her slightly. The rattling slowly came to a stop and it seemed like the whole room had let out a breath from holding it for too long.
Before anything else could happen between them, Steve said, "I wanna know why Loki let us take him. He's not leading an army from here."
Taking the reins once more, Bruce said, "I don't think we should be focusing on Loki. That guy's brain is a bag full of cats, you could smell crazy on him."
Perci lightly snorted and chuckled a little. But Thor frowned again, "Have care of how you speak. Loki is beyond reason, but he is of Asgard, and he's my brother."
The assassin, deadpan, said, "He killed eighty people in two days."
The God then tilted his head slightly, "He's adopted."
That made Perci smirk.
The Doctor, confused said, "Iridium, what did they need the Iridium for?"
Tony then strutted in, munching on some blueberries.
Perci grinned at his cockiness. And his guts for winking at her, "It's a stabilising agent."
