The Twelve Signs of the Zodiac were more than just constellations in the night sky; they were living and breathing beings who took care of those who fell under their sign. The projection of the position of the planets, and the Sun and the Moon on the Ecliptic at the moment of birth was when a Sign knew they had an addition to their family. Because, to the Zodiacs, that was exactly what the mortals were to them. Family.
There was no leader amongst the Zodiacs, they all believed that they would not fair well with one another if they had a singular leader. So, they created a democracy where they settled anything and everything that they needed as a group. They were separated into groups based on the elements they fell under Air, Fire, Water, and Earth. The Water signs consisted of Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces. The Fire signs were Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius. The Earth signs held Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn. And, finally, the Air signs were Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius.
Their democracy was thriving, and as they watched those below on Midgard, they had wished their governments had thrived like their own. But they couldn't be so greedy when it came to their children of the Sun and the Moon.
To most, people believed that the Zodiacs were treated as some form of Religion; when they were nothing like that. Because they held the values and consider everyone under their name as their child, they offered comfort, faith, and a deeper understanding of the world they lived in. They didn't want to be placed on a pedestal and claimed to be all knowing Gods when they were nothing of the sort. They were ordinary beings, divinities if you would, that wanted nothing more than the best for their sign.
