Part Two: Hammers in the Night - Chapter Twenty

Start from the beginning

I walked over to her and she turned to me, her face reflecting her worry, "I just found her... but..." She stammered her hand going to the hand on the sheet.

"She fought against the Pride, but I don't think she was aware that you were here Serina." I said softly giving the worried medic a gentle hug for comfort. "We can only hope that she listens to her cat when she wakes up and realizes that you're here, waiting for her."

Serina nodded running a hand through her short-cropped hair. She was probably one of the most militantly lesbian females in the Pride, but that didn't detract from her competence as a medic or her aggressive, almost forward nature in the dinner hall. She wasn't the sort to take guff from anybody, and there was more than one cat who'd learned, the hard way, that she was nobody's fool.

"I don't think anybody is really ready for the day that they meet their mate." She stated looking down at the pretty form laying in the bed.

While Serina was broad, strong, and pretty much built like an ideal butch the female on the bed was definitely feminine with aesthetic curves in the right places and a symmetrical, attractive face.

"You take good care of her Serina, she's going to need a lot of help to get used to the Pride and to the way that we do business. I think it's been a very long time since she had anything to do with a Pride and her cat is probably hurting from being away from the bonds of family for too long." I said softly as Serina softly took one of the hands on the bed and held it in her own. I knew the leopard was a strong female, but right now she looked, almost delicate laying there with her chest rising and falling with her breath.

After a couple more moments the woman's eyelids twitched before slowly opening. She looked around, first catching sight of Serina, and then me.

"What have you done to me? Why am I here she asked groggily as she tried to sit up, only to find that she was restrained. "Why am I tied down?"

"Major Ilyanna Vyankyrstov, that is your name, right?" I asked her looking straight into her blue eyes.

She took a moment before finally nodding slightly, "Yes, that is me, though my memories are a bit, unsettled right now. What happened to me?"

I sighed and looked at Serina before I took a deep breath, "Major, you were involved in an attack against my home, Silver Peak and in the fighting I fear I put a bit of a dent in you head with the pommel of my sword." I told her, "I've been told that you've been with the Hammers from some time, and the one thing that we are sorely lacking is information that organization."

She looked away from me, and into Serina's eyes and I could see her eyes go wide. "Here... she's here?" she gasped softly straining against the bonds on the side of the bed to reach up and touch Serina's skin.

I looked over at Serina and could see the question in her eyes so I smiled and nodded.

Serina took but a moment to gently release the bonds on Ilyanna's wrists and gently capture her hands softly with her hands. "Yes, kitten I'm here, I've been waiting for my whole life to meet you." She leaned forwards and gently kissed Ilyanna softly.

I stepped back, with a smile as I watched the two of them interact. "Wonder how Pavel is going to react to Ilyanna?" I said softly more to myself than anybody in particular.

Pavel was one of the young cubs that we'd found when we'd liberated the Silver Peak from it's previous management and like Tanya he was struggling with coming to terms with what had happened to him.

"I think he will be okay, with a second mother I think he will thrive." Mom said from beside me, though Serina has mentioned that she's worried about his toilet training being excessively delayed.
