Walking out to the front of the restaurant, Irina found Doom leaning on the counter.

She was happy to see him, though surprised. He usually gave her time to go home and shower before he would come by the apartment. So, stepping closer, she asked, "Doom, what are you doing here?"

He turned from staring out the door when she spoke. He then straightened and said, "I was bored and thought I'd see if you wanted to go for a ride."

"I'd love too," she told him with a smile.

"So, you're still dating this guy?"

Irina turned to find Gina standing there. "I am, and I'm sorry if you don't like it Gina."

Gina snorted. "Your life."

Irina focused on her friend. "You're right, it is. What I don't understand is what your problem with him is because you don't even know him. So, if you should decide you want to clue me in at some point, you know where I live."

Irina then turned and walked out the door with Doom right behind her.

It had been three weeks since her and Gina's blow out. The only talking they did was work related and even then, Gina managed to make it snippy. She was hurt by it because they had been friends for so long but didn't know how to fix it. The first week she'd tried talking to Gina only to be snubbed, so she'd given up.

Things are going so good with Doom though, it more than makes up for the Gina issue. The more time I spend with him the harder I find myself falling for him. I'm not really sure about his feeling for me though, he's so hard to read sometimes. I think though that he must like me, otherwise, why spend so much time with me? She though as they made their way out the door.

We spend most of our evenings together, and most of my days off. I think that might be a good sign that something more permanent with him might be in my future. I have my fingers crossed over it anyway!

Doom put his arm around her as they walked down the sidewalk. "I'm guessing the two of you still haven't made up."

"No, she still ignores me all day. It doesn't matter, she'll get over it at some point. Then she'll either tell me what her issue is," she told him, "or she won't I guess."

"Mm...are you bothered by it?"

She sighed. "No, not really. At first, I was, but then I realized something."

"What is that?"

"I realized you make me happy, if she can't be bothered to see that, then I don't need her in my life," she told him.

"Alright. So, how about we go for that ride now?"

"Sounds nice," she told him.

He led her to his motorcycle and handed her a helmet. Once they were both seated, he took off down the road leading out of town.

They drove for maybe twenty minutes before he turned off the main highway and down a dirt road. The road was winding and going uphill.

When Doom stopped he got off the motorcycle. Next, he helped her off before taking her helmet. Then, taking her hand, he led her a way away from where he'd parked.

Irina gasp at the sight before her. They were way up a hillside, overlooking the town, and it looked like a miniature town from where they stood.

"It's beautiful up here Doom," she murmured.

"I thought so," he murmured from where he stood behind her. He wrapped his arms around her and rested his chin on her head. "I found it today as I rambled around avoiding Tank."
